Swing Maxi Hands-Free Breast Pump

Terrible. It started leaking right after a few uses, suction is not good, and I got half the output as I did with other pumps. It is not a pump for moms starting out. Very discouraging to new pumping moms.

This pump is not efficient in emptying breasts. In my experience, this cannot be used as a main pump for everyday sessions. I obtained it through my insurance and paid a little bit extra over some of the free options and I'm really upset that I did. I ended up having to buy a wall plugin option that I used in a previous pregnancy due to this one causing serious pain in my armpits within the first 4 days because it does not empty me. I'm hoping it gets better use later on in my journey due to convenience of not being tied down. But right now, 6 days in, it is definitely not my favorite.

I was very excited to have a pump I could use while moving around. Unfortunately, after giving it a shot for zero2 weeks, this device does not collect the same quantity of milk as my table top pump, Spectra. I will keep this as a back up pump but stick with the Spectra which is quicker and more efficient as my primary. I also found the suction on the medela swing to be uncomfortable. Pros are small size, battery lasts for several days before recharge needed, and it does work to pump while doing other things - however I also felt like I ultimately had to stop and massage my breasts to get the quantity from a single pump session that I usually do with a table top pump.

Great product, easy to use. It make my daily routine more productive and save me time specially because I have two little babies to take care of. I would like to know if there is a way to express milk only one breast while I am nursing to my baby. I wondering it because I traid it and the air was coming out from the other side of the tube.

I found that the swing didn't have as good of suction as other wireless pumps I've tried. The lower suction did decrease my milk supply over time. The hands-free collection cups were incredibly comfortable and easy to clean med! I was disappointed that it would die after 3, 30 min pumps. I did recieve this product as part of the stellar product testing panel.

This is a great on-the-go pump for busy moms! I have a 2.5 year old who I am constantly chasing around and this hands-free pump has saved me numerous times. I actually just left my baby for the first time recently, and I used this pump in the airport, on the airplane, in a restaurant and walking down the streets in NY. It's so discrete and quiet, and I never felt uncomfortable using it in public. The hands-free aspect is truly a lifesaver, because you can tuck them into your nursing bra and "wear" the actual pump itself. I haven't really found a great way of hiding the pump, but it's so small it isn't really an issue for me.
In terms of milk output, I did have one side that was very engorged even after pumping, but that has happened to me before with a plug-in hospital grade pump. I thought the amount of milk I was getting was comparable to my plug-in pump, but I did notice it took more time to get that amount and feel like I was emptied. When I'm driving or running around my house, I don't really even pay attention to how long I'm pumping, so again not really an issue for me. If you are a working mom and have limited time, this might be a consideration.
The pump is super easy to assemble and take apart. There aren't too many pieces to handle and clean, so definitely a great option to use out of the house. I was also impressed with how long it stayed charged, if that's a concern for you. All in all, this is a wonderful secondary pump for me, because I still find myself using my plug-in pump if I am able to sit and want a more efficient pumping session.

I received the the Medela Swing Maxi with hands free collection cups from Stellar. I highly recommend this pump. I use mine hands free and it makes life so much easier for me. My milk output has been great I really have no complaints in that department. For me it fills almost four of the cups that it comes with each pump and that is really great for me and my son. The swing maxi is really easy to use, the directions are great it will take a couple of times to find what and how you are comfortable with pumping but real easy to use. It is also easy to clean and comes with four hands free cups that are easy to switch out once each cup is full. I hand clean mine with baby bottle brushes and air dry and I do sanitize mine in my sterilizer for extra cleaning. I have been able to use this pump at home while cleaning, laying back relaxing on the couch, at work and even driving. My absolute favorite is being able to be hands free and still be able to get things done.

The Medela Swing is easy to use in setting up and breaking down. All of the parts make sense where they should go together which is important for sleep deprived parents. They are easy to clean and store as well.

I had a difficult time finding consistent comfort with the cups and the suction of the pump. This definitely effected the efficiency of the milk output for me. I tried troubleshooting in different ways and was able to have a more efficient milk output but they were never very comfortable for my body.

All in all, I think this is a solid breast pump with handsfree option, while it was not the best for me, the easy set up and cleaning is a big plus.

I would rate the overall performance of the pump very highly! I did not consider that I would even like this one more than the one I started with.
