Overview

Description

The Medela Swing Maxi is designed to express more milk in less time. You’ll never be without power thanks to its built-in rechargeable battery that lasts for up to six pumping sessions (when fully charged), and a USB type C adaptor for quick charging.

Swing Maxi offers intuitive hassle-free pumping with Bluetooth technology. This lets you connect to the Medela Family app for pump session tracking, virtual milk storage and nine pre-programmed settings that you can control with four user-friendly buttons.

Medela’s 2-Phase Expression technology mimics the natural sucking rhythm– fast to stimulate milk flow, then slower to provide optimal milk flow.

PersonalFit Flex breast shields ensure more comfortable and effective pumping. Two sizes of breast shields (21 mm and 24 mm) are included with a 105-degree opening angle, soft rim and oval shape that puts less pressure on your milk ducts—this means more comfort for you plus up to 11.8% more milk for your baby.

Died after 10 months
This pump seemed good at first however I never felt it did a great job extracting milk, I never was able to pump enough ounces from what I could feed when breastfeeding. At 9 months of use the battery died and couldn't be used without on the charger, now a month later the pump has completely died. Would not recommend.

Charge doesn’t work anymore
I got this as a gift and have been using this for months now and I absoloutly loved how portable and easy it was… however now it will not work unless plugged in it’s lost it’s ability to charge. Super big bummer… you'd think this should last longer than 5 months :(

Battery issues
I bought the pump and loved it initially. The convenience/size/ low noise…everything! After couple months of using it, I started having battery issues where the pump wouldn’t charge. I could only use it if it was plugged in. Super inconvenient when you buy a portable pump for your needs. I contacted Medela and they sent a replacement (looked like a refurbished) pump right away. Month into the “new” pump and already this pump has issues. The pump runs for barely seconds and stops. Not sure it’s the battery or the pump. I’m super aggravated because I don’t have a pump when I need to pump and hate I choose this pump as my upgrade with insurance. I’m not even sure if I somehow got the two bad pumps or if this is just a bad product. But would I recommend this pump to anyone….absolutely NOT!

Not a great pump
I have used medela in the past and was very satisfied. However the swing maxi does not hold suction well. The milk pools in the flange. The tube does not stay connected to the pump causing bad suction. I have had issues with this pump from day one and it is not starting to affect my milk supply because I cannot pump all of my milk out due to the lack of suction. I have tried everything I know to fix this issue and read the instructions carefully. Highly disappointed with this particular pump.

Plastic cracking - not even a month old
Already breaking, the plastic is already breaking where the tubs connect and suction is not great.

Unsatisfied
My pump was bought for me as a baby shower gift, my daughter was born two weeks ago, I thought I was going to love this pump, however the charge doesn’t last long at all, if you let go of the pump the suction becomes loose even with a pumping bra on. My complete hands free pump is way more convenient and gets much more milk. I’ve called customer service about exchanging my pump for the hands free pump and Medela or Amazon won’t do anything. Even with a two year warranty purchased on Amazon. Highly disappointed.

Battery life
I got this as a gift from my baby registry thinking it was going to be a gamer changer. I'm recently started back at work and notice after charging at night I cant get more than one pump session in without the battery dying. Now I gave to find a plug to charge it while I pump which stinks cause now I stuck to wall again

Is great when it works...
Currently on my second pump.
The first wouldn't hold a charge and had to be plugged in to work.
The replacement that was sent to me is now holding milk in the flange and won't release the milk into the bottles unless I remove one of the tubings. It'll stop suctioning one side or the other and only resolves itself by unplugging one of the tubes... and then it will only work properly for a minute or two. Not to mention the pain it's causing from the constant back and forth.

It's a shame because it started off great but after 4 calls to customer service to get it replaced, im reluctant to even call back again.

No suction... clogged cuts
I have replaced this pump 3 times due to low suction and poor battery life.
1. First pump: Milk got trapped in the shields and would not fall until tubes were disconnected
2. Second pump: Pump would turn on but no suction at all, pump would just click but no action. This occurred after 10 pumping sessions
3. Third Pump: No suction again after 10 minutes, Strong suction only if I disconnect tubbing and try connecting. Fails suction after 2 minutes. I have been having clogged ducts due to this occurring constantly.
Very frustrating as an exclusive pumper to have a pump that does not work and cannot get another pump covered by insurance.

Good pump but the battery life is awful
Overall I’ve been happy with this pump but after 4 months of use the pump does not hold a charge. The last few times I’ve used it’s turned red and turned off even though the app says it’s 100% charged. Very frustrating as the main benefit of this pump is that I’m not tied to a wall.
