Overview

Description

The Philips Avent Avent Manual Breast Pump features Natural Motion technology which combines suction and nipple stimulation to support faster milk flow.

The handle is ergonomic, and you can lean back and relax while pumping (you don’t have to lean forward to make sure the milk gets in the bottle). The soft silicone cushion adapts to both the size and shape of your breast.

Hand pumps are super portable, quiet and lightweight. They’re not as efficient as a double electric pump, but can also make pumping feel like less of a production.

What we love about it

A portable hand pump that supports quick milk flow.

Must to have breast pump
The pump iv very gentle on my breast. However, it may take time to find your rythm.
I think its a great choice if you exclusive breastfeeding but you want to have breast pump just in case. Also, it has much compact desin, so you can take it with you. Electric pumps have bulky parts and so many cords.

Price is very affordable for such convenience.
I like that pump is going straight into the bottle.

As mom of two I do recommend to buy this pump to be prepared to anything.

I'm very grateful Stellar product testing panel for having opportunity to test this pump.

Effective with some practice
I received this pump to try via Stellar Panel. I’m one month postpartum and this pump arrived right at the crucial time I began developing my milk supply. There are things I loved and disliked about this manual pump.
Loved:
- Effective in removing milk. This was super nice to have on the go. I brought it with running errands before I purchased a portable pump.

Disliked:
- Suction was difficult to get right. I found that it slid around quite a bit if it wasn’t positioned just right.
- There are a lot of parts which made cleaning annoying. It also took a few tries (and looking through the instructions) to put it back together.

All in all, this is a solid manual pump that I will continue to use.

Manual Pumping Made Easy
I received this manual breast pump from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was excited to try this pump because I'm an exclusive pumper to my 11 month old baby. Anything to make pumping quicker, easier, cleaner, and more convenient is right up my alley! For reference, I've used a Lansinoh manual pump, so that's my only manual pump comparison, but I also exclusively use a Spectra S1 these days and have also used a portable wearable pump. Pump, pump, pump, pump! I found this pump really easy to use.

Pros: It's super easy to clean, which is such a big plus when it comes to pumping. The duckbill is easy to remove without getting messy and pulling on the valve. I *love* how the flange has a silicone insert because most fits for pumps are too big or too small. This is a much smaller pump than my Lansinoh pump, so it conveniently fits in my car glovebox without any problems. It's easy to use! I didn't need a lot of start up time to get pumping, so it was pretty clear that almost anyone could use it.

Some cons: You're limited to the flange that it comes with, so it's not interchangeable with other flanges you might already have. That's not a huge problem, but if this isn't your mainstay, it means you'll have to keep track of all the parts more closely. The base of the silicone part is also really soft, so it's hard to initially go in without bending. This pump seemed to collect more condensation than my other pumps, but it could just be that it was hot in my room. That can mean that it's harder to see your milk flow up close and personal. Another downside is that I'm most comfortable using my regular silicone inserts, and this did not allow for that. It was still comfortable without them though. As with all manual pumps, I didn't pump anywhere close to what I would get from an electric, but it's definitely unfair to compare the two as they're apples to oranges.

Overall: it was really great to use, and I'll definitely reach for it again. Does it live up to its claims? Yes. Gentle and portable? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to someone else? Definitely.

Quiet and Lightweight also Easy to Use
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this manual breast pump. My overall impression of this manual breast pump was 5 stars; it is quiet, lightweight and easy to use.

I was consistently able to get an average of 1 ounce more of milk on each side than my battery-operated portable pump; I will certainly be utilizing this is a supplement or a complete replacement for some pumping sessions now since it's increased my production.

I appreciate the compact design; I've downgraded the size of my diaper bag to a mini bag and this fits perfectly inside for pumping on-the-go. I really appreciate the flange cover; I don't think either of the other pumps I own came with covers. The cover for the bottle also feels secure and doesn't leak. I also appreciate how quiet this pump is; I work from home and was able to pump while in a meeting that required our microphones to be on for training. It's also appreciated when it doesn't wake up my baby for late-night pump sessions.

The silicone flange itself fit me perfectly and provided great suction. This pump is also very comfortable to use and the parts themselves are easy to assemble and to clean. I was able to clean the parts with a standard brush set that I use for my other pumps.

Thanks again to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this manual breast pump

Love it
This manual pump has been so comfortable and convenient. I love the hassle-free ease of use. I can just toss it in my bag or keep it on my nightstand without having to worry about cords, plugs, noise, etc. I received this as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was not in search of a manual breast pump, but I’m so glad i received it. I probably wouldn’t have tried one on my own because I didn’t think I needed it, but it has changed my overnight pumping. It will be so great for when I wean myself off of my overnight pumps because I can just express what I need to feel relief without having to empty myself completely. It’s so much better than using other silicone suction milk collectors IMO. It’s easy to assemble and clean.

Great Portable Pump Option
I have loved using this pump for travel. I can keep it in my car or diaper bag for pumping on the go. I don't have to bother with keeping it charged since it's manual! I am an exclusive pumper and I have found the manual pump actually empties my milk better than the electric pump. It's a little less convenient than the electric pump but I like the portability and that there are no cords and charge needed. The parts are easy to clean and take apart/put back together. Overall, this pump is a great option if you're looking for a pump to keep in your car or carry around in your diaper bag! (I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.)

Lightweight easy to use but a bit uncomfy
The Phillips avent breast pump is compact, lightweight and easy to use. The collection bottle can be used as a baby bottle with the right nipple(not included) which is pretty convenient. The silicone part that makes contact with your body is quite soft and comfortable. Pumping was easy and I was producing milk quite quickly. It’s well made and the parts are solid.

Cons: there are sooo many parts to disassemble and wash if you truly want to sanitize it. It was also causing some discomfort as I pumped. Per the manual it’s likely because the suction was too high but there isn’t a way to adjust it at far as I could tell.

Over all this is a pretty good manual pump and can work well for you if you body likes it.

I was given this manual breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Amazing flange concept
This manual breast pump is ahead of its time. I normally need a 17 mm flange size So I was initially apprehensive about how this would work without adjusting my size and let me tell you I have been pleasantly surprised. The concept is very straightforward and makes sense. When pumping the silicone suctions around the nipple and air pulls the milk out. I did not find this uncomfortable which was exciting for me since I have elastic nipples. This pump was super easy to assemble and I love the pull tab on the duckbill! It does feel like a bit to wash but nothing too difficult! I also like the compatibility of the bottles especially if they are the type your baby uses. Overall I think the best part about this is the silicone flange. I think this helped my milk to express faster and get more in a shorter amount of time. Perfect size and easy to store and travel with.
I received this product as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my HONEST feedback.

Must Have for Working Moms
As a working mom of two, having a manual breast pump at my desk and in my car has been a lifesaver more than once! Just the other day, 10 months into my breastfeeding journey, I forgot part of my electric pump. Fortunately, I had this manual pump at my desk, and it saved the day!

I have two manual pumps, both from Avent. I purchased my first Avent pump and I received this second one through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This model is my favorite because it’s compact, discreet, and effective. Straight out of the box, it's easy to use. The pump and bottle easily fit into half of my small lunch box, making it easy to store in a work fridge or tuck into a glovebox.

The silicone flange insert is very comfortable, creating an effective seal that allows the pump to empty me just as efficiently as an electric pump – without pinching or awkward squeaks. I also love that it came with a bottle and lid that can be used to securely transport milk. The lid also has a removable piece, allowing you to insert a bottle nipple for on-the-go feedings.

If you’re in the market for a manual pump, I highly recommend this one!

Philips Avent Manual Pump
My regular wearable pump went out on me overnight a week ago. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this manual breast pump, I had one ready to go! The Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump was an excellent, on-the-go back up pump. I did have trouble at first getting the suction to the level I’m comfortable with and had a hard time expressing milk as quickly as I have with other manual pumps. The design is perfect for tossing the pump in my diaper bag or back pack, but the amount of parts seemed overwhelming the first time I assembled the pump. Once I adjusted to using the pump, it was easier to express and the silicone flange felt very comfortable against my skin. Cleaning and assembly are similar to other manual pumps I have tried, but for some reason I had a harder time assembling this pump. I wish it would have come with a bottle nipple to fit the collection bottle that comes with the pump. That would have made the on-the-go characteristics even better!
