Manual Breast Pump
Overview
Description
The Philips Avent Avent Manual Breast Pump features Natural Motion technology which combines suction and nipple stimulation to support faster milk flow.
The handle is ergonomic, and you can lean back and relax while pumping (you don’t have to lean forward to make sure the milk gets in the bottle). The soft silicone cushion adapts to both the size and shape of your breast.
Hand pumps are super portable, quiet and lightweight. They’re not as efficient as a double electric pump, but can also make pumping feel like less of a production.

Customer reviews
I think its a great choice if you exclusive breastfeeding but you want to have breast pump just in case. Also, it has much compact desin, so you can take it with you. Electric pumps have bulky parts and so many cords.
Price is very affordable for such convenience.
I like that pump is going straight into the bottle.
As mom of two I do recommend to buy this pump to be prepared to anything.
I'm very grateful Stellar product testing panel for having opportunity to test this pump.
Loved:
- Effective in removing milk. This was super nice to have on the go. I brought it with running errands before I purchased a portable pump.
Disliked:
- Suction was difficult to get right. I found that it slid around quite a bit if it wasn’t positioned just right.
- There are a lot of parts which made cleaning annoying. It also took a few tries (and looking through the instructions) to put it back together.
All in all, this is a solid manual pump that I will continue to use.
Pros: It's super easy to clean, which is such a big plus when it comes to pumping. The duckbill is easy to remove without getting messy and pulling on the valve. I *love* how the flange has a silicone insert because most fits for pumps are too big or too small. This is a much smaller pump than my Lansinoh pump, so it conveniently fits in my car glovebox without any problems. It's easy to use! I didn't need a lot of start up time to get pumping, so it was pretty clear that almost anyone could use it.
Some cons: You're limited to the flange that it comes with, so it's not interchangeable with other flanges you might already have. That's not a huge problem, but if this isn't your mainstay, it means you'll have to keep track of all the parts more closely. The base of the silicone part is also really soft, so it's hard to initially go in without bending. This pump seemed to collect more condensation than my other pumps, but it could just be that it was hot in my room. That can mean that it's harder to see your milk flow up close and personal. Another downside is that I'm most comfortable using my regular silicone inserts, and this did not allow for that. It was still comfortable without them though. As with all manual pumps, I didn't pump anywhere close to what I would get from an electric, but it's definitely unfair to compare the two as they're apples to oranges.
Overall: it was really great to use, and I'll definitely reach for it again. Does it live up to its claims? Yes. Gentle and portable? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to someone else? Definitely.

I was consistently able to get an average of 1 ounce more of milk on each side than my battery-operated portable pump; I will certainly be utilizing this is a supplement or a complete replacement for some pumping sessions now since it's increased my production.
I appreciate the compact design; I've downgraded the size of my diaper bag to a mini bag and this fits perfectly inside for pumping on-the-go. I really appreciate the flange cover; I don't think either of the other pumps I own came with covers. The cover for the bottle also feels secure and doesn't leak. I also appreciate how quiet this pump is; I work from home and was able to pump while in a meeting that required our microphones to be on for training. It's also appreciated when it doesn't wake up my baby for late-night pump sessions.
The silicone flange itself fit me perfectly and provided great suction. This pump is also very comfortable to use and the parts themselves are easy to assemble and to clean. I was able to clean the parts with a standard brush set that I use for my other pumps.
Thanks again to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this manual breast pump
Cons: there are sooo many parts to disassemble and wash if you truly want to sanitize it. It was also causing some discomfort as I pumped. Per the manual it’s likely because the suction was too high but there isn’t a way to adjust it at far as I could tell.
Over all this is a pretty good manual pump and can work well for you if you body likes it.
I was given this manual breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
I received this product as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my HONEST feedback.
I have two manual pumps, both from Avent. I purchased my first Avent pump and I received this second one through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This model is my favorite because it’s compact, discreet, and effective. Straight out of the box, it's easy to use. The pump and bottle easily fit into half of my small lunch box, making it easy to store in a work fridge or tuck into a glovebox.
The silicone flange insert is very comfortable, creating an effective seal that allows the pump to empty me just as efficiently as an electric pump – without pinching or awkward squeaks. I also love that it came with a bottle and lid that can be used to securely transport milk. The lid also has a removable piece, allowing you to insert a bottle nipple for on-the-go feedings.
If you’re in the market for a manual pump, I highly recommend this one!
