Description
This certified organic mattress eliminates harmful chemicals and potential allergens from children’s sleep space without sacrificing comfort. The design features organic breathable organic cotton and moisture-wicking organic wool for ideal airflow and temperature regulation.
The mattress is solid, supportive and comfortable with layers of organic cotton and GOTS-approved PLA over a glueless encased coil system. It’s built on the firmer side to help support kids’ developing bones and to last from their toddler years through their teens and beyond.
Naturepedic handcrafts mattresses in an Ohio-based, certified organic factory using sustainably sourced materials. As a 1% for the Planet member, Naturepedic donates 1% or more of its annual mattress sales to environmental organizations.
All Naturepedic kids mattresses are made without flame retardants, formaldehyde, polyurethane foam or questionable chemicals.
You can also add a layer of protection with an Organic Waterproof Protector Pad (sold separately).

Comfy and Safe! (But slightly smelly)
After much debate I chose the Naturepedic Verse mattress for my child's first bed. I had the crib mattress so it seemed to be an easy choice. But, I labored over it though because of its price. That being said, I'm still happy with the purchase. The delivery was slow. I wish they had been more transparent with actual shipping and delivery times. I actually called them several times about this because we were going to be away and that wouldn't have been an issue if it actually shipped in 7-10 business days like they claimed. I will say the mattress is almost 2 months old now and still has an odor. We even 'aired it out' for 2 weeks prior to putting in her room. I will still take an organic smell over chemical and plastic off-gassing anytime. It's a bit smaller than what the measurements were quoted as. But, perhaps that will change over time. The packaging was good and I was very happy it was not all plastic. All things considered, I'd probably buy again in the future.

Good for kids
Took several days to air out and get rid of the chemical smell. The mattress is firm but mostly comfortable. It might be too firm if you're used to sleeping on a softer mattress topper.

Comfortable for my toddler
I also slept in the sped a few times while I was pregnant and found it to be very comfortable. We use this mattress for my three-year-old's room and it gives me good peace of mind that it is made with clean materials.

Really comfortable, well made mattresses
I bought 2 mattresses for my twin girls and they are soo comfortable, yet firm, and I can tell it is well made. There was no smells when you receive (no off fumes). So far very happy with the purchase!

Love it!
We bought this for our toddler when she outgrew her crib, decided to skip the twin level and go right to full. So far, we really love it, and she has been sleeping very well through the night, it's pretty firm, which is good for a child's development. And I really love that it's made of natural material.

Worth the Investment
First off, I love that when you receive the verse mattress it does not smell like chemicals! The mattress is sturdy and firm, great for growing children but also perfect for those nights where as an adult, I want/need to be there with my child. Mattress does break in from being really firm with use. It comes in the mail wrapped up airtight, but fills up nicely really quickly! So glad I was able to invest in a non toxic American made mattress! Amazing quality.

Great materials, could be improved
I absolutely love and appreciate the transparency of materials and sourcing and the clean and healthy products provided. We are satisfied with the cleanliness of the materials and the comfort of the mattress, but there are a few practical challenges that could be improved upon. The mattress is floppy, not holding its shape, and does not have handles! It's an absolute beast to assemble/move, even with a second person. In addition, the waterproof mattress cover that we paid over $100 for in order to protect my 4-year-old's mattress, allowed a massive potty accident to leak all the way around the sides and damage the mattress before we had even broken it in. There was no absorbency in the waterproof cover and the sides were not waterproofed. While the company's philosophy and manufacturing quality are stellar, these practical details can make or break the user experience.

Healthy and comfortable
The mattress came in good timing, although I had not ever received any shipping confirmation email or anything else after the initial order email. But it came, ha!
It was easy to open up. As soon as I cut the plastic it began to inflate.
It's a healthy mattress and it is very comfortable for my son's first big boy bed.
We are thankful for company's like you that are conscious about healthy materials in the home. Thanks!
