The only "issue" we had off the hop was experimenting with cloth diapers we had quite a few leaks to begin and washing the cover each time was a bit of a pain. We figured out the leak issue and it is no longer an issue. We do have a sheet on the mattress to help reduce the need to wash the mattress cover: to be noted this does reduce breathability, so we would recommend investing in good quality breathable sheets to accompany this mattress.
