Emme 360 Rotating All-in-One Car Seat

We registered for this carseat before our daughter was born. She is 9 months old now and we are using it for the first time. It doesn't turn without force. It often gets stuck. The straps are nearly impossible to pull tight. On top of that the reaquired body pillow is not secured into the carseat with anything making getting a baby in and out a nightmare. Avoid this carseat!!!

This car seat is an expensive and does not work well! The rotation part is very difficult to rotate and in doing so loosens the seat gradually. The lap clip digs into my child’s chunky legs and is uncomfortable for him. I have to make sure he has pants on and some kind of barrier. Very disappointing car seat.

This is the most god awful car seat. Car seats should not be this difficult to use and install, I have been helping people with car seats since 2000 I am a certified car seat specialist and I will tell you I will never recommend this seat. if it is not easy for people to use It will not be used properly.

I chose this months ago and was super excited. I searched around and this one was my favorite for features and style, a lil pricey however baby’s safety and comfort is priority and I’ve learned over the yrs you truly get what you pay for. I waited to install until he was 8 months (just my preference) and man did I regret every decision. Car seat is sleek, every bell and whistle, absolutely beautiful. Installation was even easy with zero problems so why 2 stars? I’m unable to use the seat cause the bottom buckle has zero slack. My baby is in the 90% range so he’s got some chunk and the plastic on the clips just dug and pinched the inside upper part of his legs. He rode in it twice for 5 minutes each time and screamed the whole way. I wish I would of installed sooner and noticed the bottom clip basically attached to base of seat with no strap slack and maybe I could of exchanged for a different seat instead of having to buy another one out right.

I don’t know what all the bad reviews are about! If there was anything wrong with this car seat, the company must’ve ironed everything out because we love ours! We are 1st time parents & this was our first convertible car seat. I did minimal research & honestly just bought the least ugly one I could find between 3 or 4 different sites but that was also in our price range. Yes this is a bit pricey, but it’s well worth it to me because of the rotation feature. It’s so much easier to put our son into the Emme 360 than it is the Pria Max which we purchased shortly after the Emme for our other vehicle. I bought the Meadow Wonder color & it is very beautiful for being a car seat. 10/10 all the features work great. Installation is a little tricky but I made a trip to our local traffic safety & resource office & they helped me get it installed correctly with no problems. After that I was even able to move the car seat to a new car without hardly needing to look at the manual. Definitely would recommend this car seat if you can afford it. For reference I drive a Honda Accord & it fits wonderfully, my son is around 22 lbs & slightly below average height.

Getting my child into a traditional car seat is challenging when I'm navigating awkward angles trying to avoid bumping our heads. I took the Emme 360 Rotating All-In-One Car Seat for a spin! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this convertible car seat. It was much easier to secure my 16 month old in the seat thanks to 360 rotation. This seat has great longevity: all the different modes to go from infant rear-facing all the way to high back booster (100 lbs). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND scheduling a FREE live virtual installation appointment with a Maxi-Cosi licensed technician. They were able to clear up some confusion (instruction manual needs updating re: bottom buckle positioning) and gave me confidence the seat was installed properly. The tension sensitive indicator gave me clear visual confirmation I had enough tension on the seatbelt strap versus guessing by feel. I love the seat insert that can be easily removed for messes so I don't have to take apart the whole seat, and the machine washable AND dryer-safe (yay!!) fabrics are soft, luxe, and made without wool or added fire retardant treatment. There is a required cushion to use for rear facing children under 30lbs, and I wasn't a fan of having to keep track of and adjust an extra loose piece. The cushion seems to push my 22lb kid forward and it's hard to tell if she's comfortable. If it's positioned it all the way down she was too far forward to buckle and her back seemed arched. If I positioned it closer to the small of her back I worried her bottom would sink back with too much open space, and she'd hunch forward. The bottom buckle strap is too short. Because of this, the strap fit around the legs seems tight where the sides of buckles press into my toddler's thighs. She hasn't complained but I worry about how this may fit as she grows.

Upon removing the Emme 360 rotating All-in-One Car Seat from the box, we were delighted to find a very sturdy and well-made seat. As the name suggests, it is rotating. My son is 27 months old, and has always used a non-rotating car seat. We tried using the rotating part, but he did not like it at all, so we decided to use it without the rotation. I am certain that if you started your child out with a rotating car seat, they would not have a problem with it. The actual mechanism for turning the seat was very smooth, and I can see how it would be convenient for the parent, especially if you have an injury or have limited movement in your arms. As you can see from the picture, my son's legs are sticking out quite far. In his other car seat, his legs are more bent and it looks more comfortable to me. However, he does not complain about getting into the Emme at all. This car seat is supposed to be good for 10 years, although I'm not 100% sure how it would transform into a booster. I can see us using it for a long time and am interested in learning more about the different modes it has to offer. The installation of this seat was one of the best features. The Emme is much easier to install than other brands we have used. Although we did not utilize the video chat support, we felt very confident that it was secure. There are also little pressure points, and when it is installed correctly, they turn green. This is very helpful. Besides the ease of installation, a few of my other favorite features was the placement of the cupholders, the non-toxic materials, and magnetic chest belt. I was the person who rolled my eyes at the idea of a rotating car seat- it seemed like a completely non-essential gimmick. However- I received this convertible car seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel to try, and I was forced to eat my words on how silly a rotating car seat is. I'm converted. I get it. I've seen the light. The car seat took longer to unpackage than it did to install in the car. While Maxi-Cosi offers video chat support for install, we have three children in car seats, and have used many in our time. Install was intuitive, fast, and secure. The seat itself is extremely plush and comfortable, and the cup holders were a huge hit with my three year old- the cup-holders have a fun design feature where they can adjust to fit sippy cups of different sizes/styles, which she just loved. She's able to ride in style regardless of if the cup she chose that day has handles or not (also great for snack cups!). The car seat is easy to adjust, and looks extremely adaptable for different ages. I'm looking forward to continuing to use it as my kids grow into different stages, and just wish we had gotten it while we could utilize the infant inserts. The crotch buckle IS tricky to adjust, but we got it in the end. My kids are on the smaller and more petite end of things, but if you have taller or chunkier kiddos, this might be a consideration. The real winner, though, is how easy it is to get the kids into the car. I no longer need to crawl into my van to get a secure fit on the kiddo in this car seat (unfortunately, still need to do that with the others- working on convincing my husband we need to replace our other rear-facing child's car seat with this!). Living in Minnesota, getting in and out of the car fast is a priority, and it's definitely easier to do so with the 360 degree rotation. I love this car seat. I've swallowed my pride and eaten my words, and I've admitted that I'm in love.

This seat boasts the softest cushioning I've ever felt on a car seat. I'd imagine it's what sitting on a cloud would feel like. The several cushions included can be removed if needed for the best fit. For example, I removed most to have more space for my sons chubby legs. By doing this the buckle didn't dig into his legs anymore. Only one needs to be used for rear-facing. It was a bit confusing, so I did contact the customer service team to clarify. It seems that I received an outdated issue of the manual, which they remedied immediately by sending a new one. The 360° rotation did make it much easier to get my son in and out of the car. Being able to turn him towards me put less strain on me, and he no longer gets the occasional head bumps he used to get in a traditional seat. However, the rotation is not always very smooth. The release is in an awkward spot and, to me, is hard to use. I have to spin the seat to the opposite side a little to get it to spin towards me. I do like that there is a lock indicator to show you the seat is secure after rotating into the desired position. The harness system is easy to use, and the magnetic chest clip is quick and secure. I love the one-handed harness height adjustment with the no-rethread feature. There are multiple recline positions, but there is only a sticker on the seat to make sure it is level. In my opinion, this is the one thing I would change about this seat. I would like to see a bubble level added for easy adjustments. The tension fix feature was easy to use and made for a secure install that you can constantly see and feel confident in. I did have to use the video chat support because my car gave me certain obstacles, but they helped me and I feel confident in the installation. The seat is made with durable materials with no extra chemicals added, and with the 3 different modes of use, it will have a long lifespan in my car. My son is a few months from being 2 & getting him buckled in can be a challenge at times. Being able to turn the car seat towards me makes it much easier to hold him still & make sure he is buckled in properly. This is probably one of the easiest car seats to install correctly. The instruction manual is very easy to follow & understand, and although I didn't need to use it, it was nice that they had video chat support available to help with installation. The color indicator gives me confidence that the seat is installed at the proper tightness, and was really easy to accomplish with the belt lock off. This car seat is also probably the plushest & softest car seat I've ever felt. The padding all just feels so nice to the touch & very comfortable for my son. The only real negative I had with the seat is how hard it is to turn. It isn't a smooth turn & takes both hands. I have noticed also that if I don't flip up the little flap of the removable pad that folds down behind the knee area it is almost impossible to get it to turn back out once it clicks in rear facing. I'm hoping it's just a learning curve & will become easier the longer we use it. I've found it easiest to leave it turned sideways when I take him out so that I don't have to try to turn it & hold him at the same time when I go to put him back in. My favorite feature though has got to be the chest clip. I had never seen anything like it before but it is so easy to use! Overall I really like this car seat & would recommend it to others looking for a rotating car seat. It is easy to install, the material feels plush & luxurious, & the extended useful life makes it a good value for your money. I definitely see us using this seat for the next 10 years until he doesn't need one anymore. If you could make the turning mechanism a little easier to use it would make this the perfect car seat!
