Absolutely love our Newton Travel Crib. It’s well-sized, light to carry, breathable, aesthetically pleasing and has a quality build. Our little guy sleeps soundly inside.
I was really surprised to read some of the negative comments here. I can’t speak to the bassinet insert, but any struggles with assembly is simply user error…
I filmed (and thoroughly narrated) myself assembling & disassembling the crib for my parents. The video is 8 minutes long. The only hassle is the final fold of the legs.

Uncomfortable pad causing sleepless nights
Our baby is not comfortable in this play/sleep yard. He is used to the newton mattress in his crib and when we go somewhere overnight, he does not sleep well due to the thin and hard pad in this play yard. Also, very difficult to pack back up.

Best size
I’m so glad I ordered this despite the negative reviews about disassembly. Everyone online pushed for the guava lotus but I knew I wanted something larger as my son is a mover in his sleep. I’m so glad I went with my gut and ordered the Newton because he happily played in there with toys and he has never been a container baby. It is even big enough for me to be in there with him. High quality and I’m so happy with the product. Has absolutely no issue with assembly or disassembly.

Difficult to remove/replace cover for washing
Taking the playard cover off to wash and putting it back on was extremely difficult. The design is so complicated for no reason. They need to take notes from Chicco’s playard which is SO much easier to remove and replace for washing. The ONLY reason I’m putting up with this newton one is because it’s much larger (for my toddler) and it being washable was important to me. Otherwise I would stick to my chicco one. It’s also overpriced and I don’t care for the “breathable” mattress either, did not buy it for that.

NOT IT
If Zero stars was an option I would have picked this. Let’s start by saying the mattress at the bottom does not sit level and neither does the mattress in the additional bassinet insert. It was constantly bent due to the way it requires to be folded up. We had ours out for 3 months and still could not get it to lay flat. It’s also extremely difficult to fold back up. It’s just not practical . The crib mattress is what newton should stick too. The play yard/bassinet is NOT IT!

Bassinet feature not great
We really like the breathability of the newton products but are disappointed with the bassinet feature of the play yard. The sheet does not fit that well and it’s hard to have the bassinet mattress flatten out. We have had it assembled for a few weeks and it still has not flattened out.

One of my favorite baby products!
