Description

The KeyFit 35 ClearTex Extended-Use Infant Car Seat offers more headrest height and legroom for extended rear-facing use. From textiles to tags, ClearTex means no added chemicals for gentle child comfort and parent peace of mind.

It features a 5-position, Easy-Extend Headrest System that raises with the harness to accommodate growth up to 32” tall, allowing you to keep your little one in the safer rear-facing car seat for longer. The integrated anti-rebound bar provides increased stability for every ride plus extended legroom for your growing baby. A removable ergonomic newborn positioner provides added support for infants 4-11 lbs.

The KeyFit 35 series is known for its top-rated, innovative safety features that makes it easy to install and use correctly every time. Premium LATCH connectors and a SuperCinch force-multiplying tightener help achieve a secure fit with a fraction of the effort. One-hand ReclineSure spring-loaded leveling foot works in tandem with RideRight bubble levels so you know it’s installed at the right angle. And the LockSure steel-reinforced belt system helps achieve a secure fit with the vehicle belt.

You can also use the car seat without the base (handy for ridesharing). Integrated European belt routing provides three points of contact for a secure install.

To create a travel system, the KeyFit 35 ClearTex offers simple one-hand click-in attachment with compatible Chicco strollers.

Is the fabric any softer on the 35?  I know my nieces sweat a little bit in the 30, even though their safety is completely worth it!

Both car seats use 100% polyester. However, the KeyFit 35 uses knit fabric, which is generally softer than the woven fabric used in the KeyFit 30.

Removable and washable fabric?

The canopy, headrest, newborn insert, all pads and the seat cover can all be removed for easy cleaning. You can spot-clean them with mild soap and water, or machine wash them in cold water on the delicate cycle using mild detergent. Hang them to dry.

Saved My Son’s Life
My husband, three-month-old baby, and I were driving home in a wind storm and a tree fell into the path of our vehicle, totaling it. Branches came through the car, including one that struck our son’s car seat and ended up resting right above his head. The impact bent the car seat, but our son didn’t have a scratch on him. So grateful for this quality product that saved his life.

We're excited to use it!
This seems like a quality product, and we're excited to use it for our son soon! This car seat comes with a base, as seen in some of the pictures. Both pieces are very study yet lightweight.

Straps and height range to short.
Seems fine from a safety stand point but belts are too short to reach the sides and makes loading and unloading baby difficult. Also frustrating that our 6 month has almost outgrown it and we need to start shopping again so soon.

Would buy again
As an extremely anxious FTM, I finally decided on this car seat after spending and insane amount of time reading safety reviews, watching crash tests, and freezing fabrics in stores. This car seat constantly ranked as one of the safest, and the quality of the material is very good. My little one has no issues falling asleep in this within minutes, so it must be pretty comfortable. It is a little heavier than most, but I appreciate that it feels more sturdy. The only complaints I have are that you have to press both sides of the handle to adjust it, which can get awkward when reaching into the car and impossible when trying to adjust while holding a baby. The shade also is pretty thick, so it gets stuck when trying to adjust it past the seat handle

We're loving it!!!
We're currently using this seat for my 7 month old, and from day one this seat has been amazing!! The no-rethread harness is my favorite feature by far. That, coupled with the easiest base I've ever installed makes this seat top tier in my book. I have 2 chicco strollers (corso le and presto) that I use with this seat and they both attach easily and effortlessly. My little guy is just that, a little guy. So we'll have this seat for him well past his first birthday, which is important to us because we intend to rear face as long as possible. When we have our next little one we'll most likely be upgrading our little guy to the fit360 (can't wait to try that out). So stay tuned for that review!!

Disappointed in customer service
Customer service was horrible. Received two identical car seats as gifts and Chicco wouldn’t let me return one without me personally paying astronomical fees in shipping. So disappointed. Will not be purchasing directly from the website ever again.
