Tripp Trapp High Chair Complete
Overview
Description
The Tripp Trapp Chair made its debut in 1972 and has been going strong ever since (Stokke calls it a “chair for life” for a reason). Devotees love the iconic Scandinavian design that’s highly functional and looks great with your grown-up décor.
This ingenious chair brings your baby right up to the table to join the family meal, or you can use the removable Tray. The intelligent, adjustable design has both depth-and height-adjustable seat and footplates for comfortable and ergonomic seating position at any age. The footplate effectively brings the floor up to your child, allowing for greater balance, comfort and freedom of movement.
The Tripp Trapp High Chair Complete also comes with a cozy Cushion and Baby Set featuring a five-point harness and extended gliders to provide support and stability for babies starting at six months. To use the Tripp Trapp from birth, you can add a Newborn Set (sold separately).
Norwegian manufacturer Stokke makes the chairs from high-quality wood with an attention to craftsmanship (this one is beech wood). The Tripp Trapp is a sturdy piece of furniture—it holds up to 300 lbs—and it’s hard for a child to tip, even for toddlers who are climbing in and out of the chair on their own.
The Glacier w/Glacier Green Cushion/White Tray combination is exclusive to Babylist, so you’ll only find it here.

Q&A
The baby set included in the Complete doesn't come in white or natural for the "Oak Natural/Nordic Blue Cushion/White Tray" configuration. It's not possible to customize the bundles right now.
It is! This chair is currently eligible for the Babylist completion discount.
The Oak Natural option is made of oak wood.
The Nordic Blue is between slate blue and grey. If you reach out to Stokke directly, they may be able to share a close up photo of the fabric so you can inspect it more closely.
These sets are not customizable. If you want the Oak Natural chair with the Nordic Grey cushions, you'll need to purchase them separately.
The Oak chair is made of oak instead of beech wood.
This listing comes with the Classic Cushion.
This does not come with the Stokke Tripp Trapp Newborn Set as that is sold separately.
The straps are removable and are advised to be spot-cleaned or washed by hand. Because it can take a few steps to remove the straps, it is usually advised to wipe them down after each feeding while still attached to the chair.
The cushion is made from fabric and is not water resistant, but is machine washable.
Customer reviews
It's difficult to assemble, difficult to adjust the straps, difficult to put the child in and out (in fact I wasn't able to put my daughter in it even once), difficult to remove the tray.
The tray is extremely hard to get in and out, I feel that I need 4 hands and to use my whole body weight to snap it down.
The straps are difficult to release, I almost cut them due to me trying to get my crying baby out. I cannot imagine if she was in distress and trying to unclip it.
The pads trap food inside where the buckle and tray insert, and you have to remove everything to clean them.
The tray itself has a large portion that extends on either side towards the seat where your baby can get their feet underneath when you try to lift them out and causes them so much pain.
I have said multiple times I cannot hate this as a high chair anymore than I currently do. I just hope after I put it away for a bit and can use it as a kid chair, I will like it better.
For a $400 chair, I expect it to have better design.
