Overview

Description

Many moms love this pump for its exceptional performance, allowing for more productive pumping sessions that fully empty the breast—which can be a game-changer. Also, it’s quiet. The motor operates at 45 decibels, which is basically the hush of a library.

It offers adjustable suction levels for a more natural flow of milk, including the popular massage mode that simulates the natural suckling of a baby. More key features: back-flow protection protects your breast milk from harmful bacteria (it’s a closed-system pump), a night light allows you to pump at any hour, it remembers your most recent settings and it has an auto-shutoff feature.

The biggest difference between this model and the Spectra S2 Plus Electric Breast Pump? This one has a rechargeable battery that lasts up to three hours—so you don’t always have to be plugged in. It’s .5 lbs heavier, but the convenience and portability could be worth it.

What’s Included:

  • 1 S1 Plus Electric Breast Pump
  • 2 Breast Flanges (24mm)
  • 2 Breast Flanges (28mm)
  • 2 Wide Neck Storage Bottles (5.4oz) (Includes nipple, cap, disc and cover for each bottle)
  • 2 Backflow Protectors (Includes silicone membrane, uppercase, and lowercase for each Backflow Protector)
  • 2 Tubing

  • 1 AC Power Adapter/Charger (12V)

What we love about it

This Pump Saved my Supply!
I highly recommend this breast pump for every mom! If you’re a first time mom, don’t waste your time with a wearable pump like I did! Wearable pumps have inconsistent suction and barely works so I basically ruined my supply. I paid out of pocket for this spectra pump and it was 100% worth it. It has hospital grade suction and it improved my low supply in just days! Very easy to use, battery lasts a couple days and it has very intuitive settings. Love the massage mode and expression mode which are efficient at removing milk. Also love the night light for those late night pumps. Don’t let the low number of reviews on this app fool you, this pump is reviewed as the best pump by numerous websites. 10/10 highly recommend!!

Only Reason I’m still Pumping
The best pump you could buy on your pumping journey. I have been exclusively pumping for 4 months now and my son drinks 34+oz a day. The spectra pulls the most milk out of the three pumps that I have tried so far. The spectra has allowed me to feed exclusive breastmilk and not have to supplement with formula. They call it a workhorse for a reason. The only con is that it’s bulky, so it’s kind of annoying to take places, but worth it to bring because it will empty me in 15-20 min. Just make sure you have the correct flange size. I got a knockoff 19mm compatible flange from Aeroflow. Most women are a size 17mm or 19mm flange size. Absolutely worth it to pay extra for the S1 which has a rechargeable battery! Also the parts are super easy to wash. With the Spectra I will be able to make it to the year mark of BM for my son!

Fantastic
Worth the extra money for the chargeable version. I get great output with this and use it multiple times per day. Reliable.

Primary Pump as an EP
This is my primary pump. I'm happy I spent the extra for the rechargeable model, and it stays charged for 24-36 hours of pumping. I have preferred the Spectra to the hospital grade Medela. As an exclusive pumper, the diaphragms and valves must be replaced fairly often (every 2-4 weeks). I purchased flange inserts for a better fit.

The Best Ever
I’ve used the hospital provided pump, which is the medical grade, and this pump out performs that one! No further this pump is the real deal! Not to mention, I love the nightlight on it, and the fact that you can get lots of pumps without having to continuously charged it.

Issues
Only one pump works due to defective backflow protector...I have taken it apart and tried everything I have no issues with the other one. Takes too long to pump going breast by breast...

Meh.
Within a month of me receiving the Spectra Pump, the screen completely went out. I had maybe used it 3 times. Now, on month 4, the motor just died on me. For being such an expensive piece of equipment, I would expect a better return on investment here. I am thankful for the help Babylist gave me in receiving this though, which is the only reason I’m giving 3 stars.

This pump does the job but…
This pump works great and has strong pump action similar to the hospital pump. As for some everyday functionality I found a few issues with it for my daily activities and then throw in the mix of a newborn.

1) wish the cup that goes on the breast wasn’t plastic and had some kind of silicone suction to the skin to secure better onto you and not solely depend of your breastfeeding bra to keep it in place.
2) don’t try to bend over and pick up baby or assist baby while pumping. The collection bottle and twist cover are not leakproof at all. The moment you’ll slightly bend forward and the milk gets to the rim it will instantly leak
3) the connection tubes from the device to the collection cups were at least 3-6” longer so you can move around a bit better or have a comfortable distance from your seated position to the device. You really can’t sit back on your couch or chair to “relax” with your back against the back end of your seated position without having to place a buffer of pillows between yourself and the back of your chair or couch

If there was a way to make these adjustments on this device or a new model this would be a Rolls Royce of breast bumps for the added comfortability.

Best pump!
The best pump.
My baby was born preterm and I had to combo feed with expressed breastmilk and this pump literally helped me so much anxiety with how much milk I was making

Not a good pump
This pump sucks! I have been using it since January and it doesn’t drain my boobs. I have to seriously squeeze them to get anything to really come out. I have replaced the parts in them and still doesn’t work. I have had to resort to doing one breast at a time just to even get it to have better suction. It sounds run down already too. Not good because I’m worried I’ll lose my supply.
