Disappointing Customer Service
Normally, I love Melissa & Doug products. I’ve been purchasing them for years - first for our kids and now grandkids. Bought this workbench on the company’s website. On delivery, the box was damaged/open and one of the table legs is missing - likely the fault of the shipping company. I reached out via the customer service online form as the customer service phone line is not currently working. I was informed that the missing part is not in the warehouse and they are sorry but they can’t help. Now we have a 3 legged workbench just in time for Christmas gift giving!

Bad customer service
The box came in such a damaged state I didn’t open it but sent it back which you made really difficult to do. You would not send me a mailing label nor would you pay for the return. I can’t believe you would ship anything so damaged it was clearly damaged before you shipped it as it had red packing tape all around it. So I am not reordering.

Very disappointed
My son got this for Christmas which we celebrated January 24th as we were out of the country during the holidays. My son was 13 months old at the time he got this and within a couple months the vice was already broken. This says it’s not for children under three but I honestly didn’t think it was built with a quality that wouldn’t last when a one year old played with it. We bought this thinking it would be more durable because it was wood. Would be nice if they sold replacement parts or gave a warranty longer than 60 days from purchase.

Great! Except…
Really love this, it’s very popular with my toddlers and kids who come over loveeeee to play with it, but it’s a little flimsy— my 3 year old broke the vice after just a few months of playing with it :(

Son loves it but it’s already broken after a month
The vise already broke or is stuck it will no longer allow us to turn the handle. Such a shame since my son loves playing with it. I called to get a replacement part but they said they don’t have it

Yes, but …
My two toddlers love their tool bench and it's very well made on the whole, but unfortunately much like the other reviews, the vice broke within a couple of supervised play sessions. As others have said, the wooden pin holding the handle on seems to have snapped. It sounds like a weak point. Am hoping a replacement part is available but we're in the UK and it was a gift so no idea where it was purchased from.

Almost in love
Santa brought this for my 2 and 4 year olds. It was easy to assemble. The bench itself is sturdy. It comes with plenty of pieces for the kids to explore and come up with their own creations. They love it! I didn't give five stars because an hour into play, the vice completely broke. A tiny wooden peg snapped when my son was tightening the grip, which caused the entire vice to come off and is now unusable. Also, one of the green building pieces is already splintered at the top. I was disappointed to find out that the company wasn't able to send me replacement pieces. I would still recommend, but maybe beware that the vice is fragile.
