The reservoir on mine doesn’t hold anywhere close to a 1/2 gallon and it only runs for maybe 4 hours. It also beeps when you have to refill it in the middle of the night. You’re not suggesting you fill the entire top part with water above where the top piece meets the bottom are you?

Thank you for your question. It runs for up to 12 hours, but this depends on the mist output (the mist range goes from gentle to strong). A lower mist setting will run for longer.

How do you clean it and/or prevent it from molding?

To keep your FridaBaby 3-in-1 Humidifier clean and mold-free, just fill the tank with 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vinegar or bleach, let it sit for 20 minutes, then give it a good shake to get rid of any gunk. For the base, pour in some vinegar, let it sit for 20 minutes, and then gently scrub it with a soft brush. Rinse everything really well, and if there's any leftover smell, a quick rinse with hydrogen peroxide and water will do the trick.

Is it easy to clean?

It is. You can use water and a soft bristle brush to clean the inside of the water tank at least once per week. Make sure to rinse it thoroughly and wait for all components to dry before refilling with fresh water and turning on. In addition, wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth.

You can use the night light even if the humidifier is turned off. Just press the light switch to turn it on.

Although filtered or distilled water is recommended for best performance, you can use tap water as well. Just make to clean your unit thoroughly at least once a week.

Amazing customer service

Impossible to clean
Loved this the first use but it is impossible to clean the tank due to the tiny opening. This inevitably leads to mold build up mentioned in many other reviews.

Solid humidifier for small space
Honestly, it’s such a great little humidifier for a small area. I love that you can add essential oils and the reservoir is decent for the size. The support from Frida is absolutely amazing. They standby their product and provided prompt service when I had an issue!

Burnt and moldy wire and base.
I bought it about 2 months ago and I used it about 3 times and today I was about to use it and I noticed the vapor wasn’t coming out and it kept beeping. Well I disconnected it and the hole where the wire connects was green and black with what I assume is mold and burnt. And the wire itself was black and melting. Not worth the money and I always loved these products.

Very good but needs to be cleaned OFTEN
Overall very good, first one lasted 3 years with daily use during the heating season. When unit started malfunctioning to the point of no longer turning on, company sent me a new one and had great customer service. Only thing I wish was improved is having a bigger hole where the water goes in and comes out so that you could actually use a brush to clean it properly. I find this unit molds quickly unless I dry it out everyday, including twisting a small rag so that it can fit into the water hole and soak up all the excess water that gets trapped in the unit and would just sit there and gather mildew and mold. I don't find the cleaning suggestions in the instruction manual intensive or frequent enough to really keep this humidifier mold-free. Even now, having a brand new one, I found that mildew started to develop within about two weeks (with near-daily drying out - I forgot a few times on busy days.) The new machine also made me realize that my old one had probably been slowly dying for a while. It made a much louder noise and the mister had basically lost all mist level control - having the new one I can notice a big difference. I think the great replacement policy if it stops working is what makes this worth it. Plus, the size and aesthetics of it work very well for my needs. I would still recommend it over any other humidifier I've tried - I'd just make sure to tell the person to be really on top of cleaning and drying it out!

Plug corroded in less than a month
We got the humidifier because of the great reviews and understanding that it wouldn't need heavy maintenance. We used filtered water only and emptied the water well religiously. I was disappointed that we needed to also empty the base, but it was a minor problem. We would let the parts dry during the day before using the humidifier over night. After using the humidifier for just 2 weeks the plug became increasingly difficult to pull in and out and last night stopped working. Looking at the plug and the socket I found that both had become corroded. I don't know why/how a device that is made to create humidity would have a plug and a socket prone to corrosion. We will need to find a new humidifier solution that is more durable against humidity.
