Overview

Highlights

  • Fits child between 4-65 lbs
  • Stages: Infant, Convertible
  • Rotates 360°
  • Comes with one cup holder

Description

The CYBEX Sirona S is the only convertible car seat to feature a 360° rotatable seat with load leg stability, linear side impact protection and SensorSafe technology. The load leg helps decrease rotation of the car seat while the side impact protection system absorbs impact forces in certain crashes.

Built into the chest clip, SensorSafe technology connects to your smartphone and sends alerts to prevent critical situations. For example, you’ll get alerts if your child unbuckles the clip, if the back seat becomes too warm or too cold and if the driver accidentally leaves the child behind.

What we love about it

An innovative 360° rotatable seat, plus technology lets you know if unsafe conditions arise.

Compared to nuna revv
This car seat is great. We were looking for a rotating seat that could take more weight than the nuna revv but we wanted it to still have great safety reviews. This carseat met all the marks. I did drop it one star because if it is not locked into place it will swivel all of the place and can make it a little more difficult to place your child into. My nuna revv doesn’t move much when it’s not locked so I can leave it ready to place my child at all times even when he’s not in the car. It’s a little harder to function than the nuna since you have to move it into place in order to swivel but overall a great car seat.

Great, but not compatible with our vehicles!
So my husband and I have liked Cybex [Our Cloud G and Gazelle have been amazing!] and think there's a lot of great things about the company in terms of quality and safety. In terms of comfort, there really is no empirical evidence suggesting this car seat(Sirona S w/ Sensor Safe) is uncomfortable to our little one so it's hard to express our opinions on comfort, our son seems to like it. That being said, the reason why this Sirona S gets 3 stars is because it simply does not work with in a 2010 Hyundai Elantra or a 2022 Nissan Rogue, at least my husband was not able to get the seat installed to our safety standards. We've watched all the install videos, read all the reviews, seen all the tips & trick vids, and still was not successful in a safe installation. My husband has tried installing via latches and seat belt tensioner and the base just wiggles around way too much for our liking. The ol' "base should not move more than 1in" clearance is just not obtainable hence we are returning. It did not install in the middle back seat or door seats to our liking.

It does however work in a 2016 Toyota Corolla, barely. In my husbands' words he says that he struggled to install via latch system but managed to get it to where the "1in" test is obtainable to the point where he felt it is safe, but "we'll see how the tension holds up over a period of time". He says that the "carseat is great and easy to get our son in and out of the seat. easy to swivel and it helps having a son who is enthusiastic about buckling himself in". Here is a list of the things he does NOT fancy:

1) obviously the incompatibility from vehicle to vehicle. It is not a universal one size fits all car seatbelt latches fit. though we managed to get it to work in 1 of 3 vehicles, it still was rather difficult.
2) once you manage to get the seat installed, the actual car seat is still pretty wobbly. the base is solid but the actual seat be wobbly. to us, it seems fine. but other parents might not like that
3) the magnets for the buckle tongues are in the wrong spot, and don't really help keep the buckles out the way
4) If you drive a sedan, we still find it still hard on our backs to insert and secure our child because sedans are just generally lower to the ground than Mid size or Full Size SUVs are. So you're still bending over, the swivel feature YES does make it easier but stress on your back is still present with every load in.

We are keeping the one installed in our Corolla but returning the other we bought for grandmas car (Nissan Rogue). If we were able to successfully get that second one into grandmas car safely, this carseat would have easily been a 5 star. Maybe my husband didn't do it right, but he did the research, he's pretty savvy and very capable, and worked at it for quite a while. But we hope this review helped and hopefully you found a way to make it work in your vehicle.

Very disappointed, extremely difficult to install and the baby is not secured, the car seat is all loose and can move easily.

Absolutely No Complaints!
We love the Cybex Sirona S! I’ve seen other reviews state that the car seat wobbles, but we don’t have that issue. As long as the foot base is taut and the load leg is installed correctly, you will be okay! The car seat is supposed to have wiggle at the top so the force of a car crash (God forbid) can distribute evenly.

The swivel feature is easy and works with one hand, the buckle magnets and no rethread harness are a game changer, and installation didn’t take nearly as long as everyone said.

5/5 from me!

Don’t wait to buy this !
We absolutely LOVE the Sirona S w/ Sensor Safe. I wish we would have had this on our registry rather than the Nuna car seat. We have a BIG girl and she was already too heavy for us ( me specifically ) to carry in her Nuna carrier. By 4 months I was already looking for alternatives. This has been the best purchase yet.

Wobbles like crazy,
Unsafe even if you stay an hour making it tight, it’s wobbly , I am frustrated and always feel like my baby is not safe in this car seat. I have another cyber car seat that doesn’t not rotate and it’s not like this, I got this in April and traveled out of the country and since I came back I have tried all ways to make it tight, but nothing worked. This car seat is not safe for my child or your child. Hoping cyber can resolve this because this was a pricy car seat.
