Der Knopf um die Gurte länger zu machen ist schwer zu erreichen. Und die Gurte sind nicht stufenlos verstellbar sondern müssen ausgefädelt werden.

I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to review the Bugaboo Turtle Air Shield Infant Car Seat by Nuna as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel! This stylish, well-constructed and comfortable car seat is a must have for any discerning parent/child! Not only is this seat pleasing to the eye due to its exceptional finish, but at first touch, it is also soft (made of merino wool…..also great for temperature control!) and abundantly padded, providing extra comfort for any young babe. The added insert for newborns and low birth weight babies is extra reassurance that your little angel will not only feel perfectly cradled in their seat, but will also be adequately supported during their travels. The handle allows for comfortable carrying/transitions. It moves between three positions for loading/carrying/travel and to remain stationary, making it versatile depending on need. Additionally, the seat offers a terrific peekaboo canopy with 50+ UV protection that can be utilized to shield your little one from the elements (e.g. rain, wind, sun) or to provide a breezy and sunny opening on beautiful days. In regard to the installation of this seat, I found the base to be incredibly easy to secure into place using the rigid latch (lower anchors). I will note that when I initially attempted to employ the lap belt to secure the base, I found this to be an arduous task to get it tight enough to confidently secure it. Once the base has been set in place, the car seat smoothly and easily clicks into place and is removed with ease by simply pulling the handle on the back of the seat. You have added reassurance that your seat is properly installed by looking for the indicator button to turn from red to green. The 5-point harness system is well-made and allows for relative ease to put your little one in and out of their seat….even when they are feeling extra wiggly! I especially love the extra padding provided around the buckle as this reduces the risk of little fingers getting harmed and presumably provides added comfort when the harness is utilized. Additionally, I love being able to use this with my Bugaboo Kangaroo Stroller! It is extraordinarily helpful to be able to remove my baby from the car and easily click the seat into the stroller……so, so, beneficial for busy/active parents and/or parents with multiple children! While this car seat may be on the pricier side, I would highly recommend it for your babe, as it is clearly a quality seat, with high comfort and solid safety features that will allow you to confidently travel with your little one. Do your baby a favor and run to grab this seat as quickly as possible!

I knew I’d love this car seat as soon as I got a good look of it out of the box…and it has proved me right. It’s amazing. The padding is perfect and it’s so comfortable for my baby. She was immediately happy in it and it fits her perfectly. The padding on the buckle and on the shoulders is the best I’ve ever seen. The shoulder pads are thicker than I’ve ever seen and it smooshes my babies cheeks a bit and makes her look like a Cabbage Patch doll but it makes her head not fall forward or to the side when she falls asleep and it’s brilliant!
It was super easy to install, the base that extends to the floor makes it not wobble but is also not in the way of my other kids getting in or out of the car. I have a tall SUV and I love the way it so easily slips put of the base when I take it out.
It’s sturdy and seems incredibly safe, and is also light. It I had to say something constructive, it would be that the handle is thin all the way down to where it hooks to the car seat where my other one got thicker, so a car seat toy didn’t drag on the floor when thrown off to the side. Not a deal breaker and I still prefer this one, just can’t put a car seat toy around the handle.
I love this car seat in conjunction with the bugaboo kangaroo stroller. Overall, it’s the best car (and travel system) seat I’ve had and I’m on kid number 4.

My biggest takeaway from this product is that my baby was extremely happy and comfortable in the Bugaboo Turtle Air Shield infant car seat by Nuna. Typically, my baby is immediately upset and getting out of the house is a whole ordeal because she hates our current infant car seat. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the design was satisfactory for my almost 5 month old, opinionated baby.

When I dive into all of the features and design elements of this car seat when not considering my baby’s opinion, I am mostly happy as a first time mom but found some areas that could use slight improvements. For some background, I would consider myself a tough critic when it comes to products that I use, and pay particular attention to design details and how design and functionality work together. I was given this infant car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Overall, I’d give the Bugaboo Turtle Air Shield a C+ on tying everything together which is a challenging feat when it comes to creating a safety product.

Things that stood out:
-Magnetic attachments on the outer edge of the carseat for attaching belts which makes getting baby into carseat much easier than having to wrestle with the belts AND a baby.
-Ease for sizing modifications infant insert and belt paddings are easily removed for bigger babies.
-The look of the extendable smart shade when in use.

Things for improvement:
-When using as a part of a “travel system”, I would have liked to see an easier latch system for removing from stroller and into car.
-I used this car seat in conjunction with Bugaboo Dragonfly stroller and undocking from the stroller, was particularly difficult. You need to click the buttons on either side of the car seat and then lift. When reaching across to lift, leverage points are quite difficult. The car seat weighs 8.8 lbs and my baby is currently 14 lbs. It would be much more doable if there was a release button on the backside of the car seat or on the handle.
-Although I really like the look of the smart shield, the material was so tight, the magnets on the side didn’t hold the smart shield securely. They would slip off or gradually slide back.
-Material is so-so, but for the price point, I feel that the material could be softer and of higher quality.

Wow wow wow! Honestly I love this carseat. I got the black because you can never go wrong with that and it is amazing! It is super cushiony and had the most padded support I have felt in any carseat. One of my absolute favorite things is the sun canopy. Omg! It extends so far down and is actually useful! I have had many and I mean many carseats between my 3 kids and this sunshade is amazing! It actually shields baby from the sun honestly almost covering the whole carseat which is actually unheard of! The carseat itself is super light weight making it easy to carry baby around and not feel like you are walking around holding bricks.
Did I mention how easy the Latch installation is? You just click it in to the carseat and you are done! Honestly I have never had a carseat that was that easy to install and honestly won’t go back to anything else. With the easy installation and the super comfortable cushioned seat and the amazing magnetic sunshade I am sold forever!
Transitioning from car to stroller has also never been easier with the seamless connection to the Bugaboo stroller you just unclip from the car and click right into the stroller. Easy peasy!

I like the light weight and simple design of this car seat. It is more narrow than other car seats I’ve used which I love because it fits better into the car and doesn’t feel so bulky when carrying it around. It’s easier to carry around because of its light weight design. The air shield can be tucked away when not in use which is so nice. The car seat base is also more narrow and not as bulky which we love. It is so simple to install, we have installed it both with the LATCH and the seat belt and honestly both are really quick and easy but the LACTH is probably a little more quick and easy. This car seat and base feels very safe and secure and like it will protect my baby. The button to unlock the car seat from the base is very smooth and unlocks the car seat easily. And the car seat then locks into the stroller just as easily too. Every feature feels like it glides, from the locking and unlocking the car seat in the base and stroller to the handle bar moving up and down. The car seat is very high quality.

Upon opening the bugaboo turtle air shield car seat I was immediately impressed with the quality of the seat. You can just tell this is made with high quality material and it is extremely comfortable! This car seat is so eye catching and beautiful I had to immediately install it in the car, being only SEVEN pounds is such a perk of this infant seat it truly is light as a feather and so easy to carry. Installing the base is so seamless with its rigid latch it took only a couple seconds to get a perfect tight install. Two little clicks and this seat was ready to go! Transferring from car to stroller is effortless and as a mom to five little ones it is essential to make sure my kiddos are as safe as possible so the safety ratings give such peace of mind knowing my baby is secure in this seat!
