Is there flame retardants on this?

Aden + Anais does not use flame retardants on any of their products. The fabric and fibers used to make their garments are not chemically treated in any way.

What is age is this good for? When do babies start using it? How do you clean the mat?

This mat can be used from birth. There is no age limit, but most babies enjoy using an activity gym before they can crawl or stand up. The mat is machine washable, and the toys and arch can be wiped clean.

The stuffing comes out of the pillow
The stuffing is not sewed into a sack so the only thing keeping it in is the loose mesh case. My baby is one month old, barely moving, and is covered in the pilled stuffing. Below is a photo of what I am talking about after one day.
This seems dangerous, when she gets older she will move more, pulling more stuffing out, and will be putting things in her mouth and I don't want her eating stuffing. This should be recalled

Overall okay - would not recommend
This activity gym was easy to put together. It’s beautiful and does everything you would expect. The only downside is the filling of the mat comes out constantly (even after washing). It’s all over the clothing, in hands and feet. We find globs of it on the floor too. I would not recommend it for that reason alone.

Misleading
I’m very disappointed in this product. After noticing lots of fiber threads in my baby’s hands after tummy time I checked the material and the top is muslin, but the filling and bottom of the mat are polyester. Why would you make a product for babies with materials that are not safe for them? The amount of fabric threads in my baby’s hands every time we do tummy time and on his clothes is very concerning. I’ll be tossing this mat immediately. I registered for it because I liked that it was wood and cotton muslin wanting safe materials for my baby, this is not safe.

A Very Well Made Lovely Play Mat
It’s a gift for our nephew’s new born, the mom-to-be loves it! She said the new baby boy would love it! We like the color combination and the materials. It’s a very well made play mat for babies!
