24 High-Quality Baby Products For Your Registry That Are Priced Just Right
These high-quality baby products have the luxury features that you care about without the sticker shock.

By Latifah Miles
When building your baby registry, comparing brands and prices is a part of the process. Some brands are known for having high ticket prices and are considered more luxury options, while other brands are designed for the budget-conscious shopper who wants quality but at a price they can afford. Then, there are the middle-of-the-road options (though I like to think of them as “affordable luxury.”) These products have some of the bells and whistles of pricier brands (like premium materials or some tech-forward features) but aren’t at the highest end of the cost spectrum.
It can be tricky to figure out which mid-level brand to choose for high-consideration categories like baby gear. How do you know which features are worth passing on and which are necessary? How do you determine which products to go mid-level for and which to splurge on? Some of these answers will come down to your particular lifestyle, family makeup and needs, but, with particulars aside, we’ve rounded up the best mid-range brands and products for the categories that require more research, like gear and big-ticket items. Many of these products are included in our best-of product guides, curated by our resident gear editor, Jen LaBracio—so you know they’re good.
These are our favorite high-quality, reasonably priced favorites to kickstart your baby registry.
Car Seats
Arguably one of the most important pieces of baby gear to add to your registry, car seats come in a wide variety of price points, features and styles. From infant car seats to convertible options that will take you through toddlerhood, there are a ton to choose from. Brands like Graco, Evenflo and Chicco design mid-price options that meet US safety standards and all three of the recommendations are backed by our gear editor and resident CPST (child passenger safety technician) Jen LaBracio.
Strollers + Travel Systems
The next stop on your baby gear priority list will likely be a quality stroller that’ll go the distance—but at a digestible price point. As a Mockingbird fan, I love that the sleek aesthetic mirrors some of the more high-end strollers and the detailed features like the 22+ configuration options, extra-large basket and built-in suspension system make for a pleasant ride.
The Chicco Corso LE Travel System, the best overall travel system pick, is a stroller and car seat bundle (comes with the KeyFit 35). When our gear editor tested it, she said, “every time I push it, I forget I’m not maneuvering a stroller that’s double the cost.” As for the Joie travel system, a new to the US market option, our gear editor tested this one too (and rated it as one of her favorites) and noted that similar to the Chicco Corso, it felt like “a travel system twice the price” and had luxe features like all-wheel suspension and a baseless car seat.
Bouncers + Swings
There are a handful of high-priced bouncers and swings on the market that are, for many parents, worth the money. But plenty aren’t as pricey and can still get the job done while being stylish enough to sit out in your living room. We’ve included a foot-powered bouncer that’s often suggested as an alternative to the more expensive Baby Björn Bouncer Bliss, as well as an automatic rocker and swing.
Bassinets, Cribs and Mattresses
While you can easily shell out several hundred dollars for a crib mattress or bassinet with a ton of extra features, you can also cut that budget in half and still get a pretty solid product. This is especially true when it comes to the crib mattress—you can grab an organic, breathable mattress that’s comfortable for your baby but it may not have a removable cover. If that’s not a priority, you’re good to go.
Everything in Between
There are many high-quality, middle-of-the-road options for smaller gear baby products like carriers, high chairs and diaper bags. The decision will mostly come down to personal style, but we’ve shared some top-registered options to consider.
