Description

The UPPAbaby MESA is a popular pick with parents, and the MESA MAX is their newest model. The MESA MAX offers top-notch safety features like a load leg and anti-rebound+ panel on the base, and an infinite adjust headrest for a customized fit. The SMARTSecure system allows for confident installation every time.

When using the MESA MAX without the base, the 4th anti-rebound handle position increases safety in rebound and rear-impact collisions. Additionally, the European Routing creates a more secure installation in this mode.

More key updates: the infant inlay is designed to optimize body positioning for infants between 4-11 lbs. The no-rethread harness adjusts with headrest, the bigger UPF hideaway canopy offers extra sun protection and side ventilation supports airflow.

The MESA MAX features DualKnit and Merino Wool fabrics that are fire-retardant-free, removable and washable. You can also tuck the harness buckles in the storage pockets.

To create a travel system, attach the the MESA MAX to VISTA and CRUZ strollers directly (sold separately) with no adapters needed. It attaches to the MINU stroller with adapters (also sold separately).

Is this compatible with the Minu V2 stroller?? If it is, where can I get the adapters for it??

This is compatible with a Minu V2. Adapters are sold at the Babylist Shop.

Does this color match Theo?

The Vista in Theo is has a dark taupe canopy, chestnut leather and a silver frame. The Mesa Max in Anthony is white and grey.

Are any of the Mesa seats 100% merino wool or are all of them blended with polyester? Why are some more expensive, is it the material or the color change?

UPPAbaby offers different fabric options for their Mesa car seats. For the Mesa Max, the fabric are either Puretech or Dualtech. The Puretech options, such as Gregory and Greyson, use merino wool. On the other hand, the other options are Dualtech, which are made of dual knit fabric. The fabric used is largely responsible for the price differences among the color options.

UppaBaby Mesa Max Car Seat
This is a terribly designed car seat. Once the infant insert is removed, there is no support & my baby is slouched over & unable to sit upright. She is distressed every time she has to ride in this seat. Will not be buying UppaBaby products in the future.

Love it!
We absolutely love this car seat! A lot of reviews say it squishes the baby but you have to adjust the head protector (it moves). We love how sturdy and comfortable it is!

Thought I would love it…
As a first time mom I bought this because I was told it was one of the safest car seats, and not knowing any better, I wanted the safest for my baby. Total waste… like the other reviews, it squishes my baby down, even if I try to sit her up, and it gets SO WARM. I keep it at daycare so that it's in AC all day but still on my drive home my baby is SWEATING. Super disappointed and feel tricked. Listen to the reviews and do not purchase.

Trusted UPPAbaby, but the Mesa Max Failed Us
I trusted the UPPAbaby name when choosing the Mesa Max in Gregory. I liked the side impact protection rating and the base’s recoil bar, which I thought ensured superior safety and quality. I also appreciated that the car seat didn’t use chemicals for flame retardancy. However, it turned out to be incredibly unsafe. My daughter was born well within the weight limit, but she failed the hospital’s car seat test multiple times. The medical staff confirmed that if we had used this car seat to bring her home, it could have suffocated her. I’m grateful we asked for the test, but heartbroken that the Mesa Max could have had tragic consequences. Safety should always come first.

Do not purchase this model!
This car seat is being returned because it is not safe for infants. Parents should be warned as the manufacture itself discontinued sales of this model for safety concerns. If you do order this product, or have ordered this previously and are unable to return it, be sure to visit the Uppababy website to register your product and also order the foam kit that has been distributed as a temporary fix to the unsafe c shape until a formal recall is issued. It is my understanding that there is an impending recall, of which I have notified Babylist.

Asphyxiation Risk
I really wanted to love this seat since I love my Uppababy Vista stroller but unfortunately, this car seat isn’t great. My daughter was uncomfortable from day one but it became so much worse once it was time to remove the infant inserts. Her chin goes directly into her chest, even with the adjustments suggested by the UppaBaby team. My daughter’s pediatrician also commented that she didn’t like my daughter’s position in the seat. Unfortunately, the deep c-shape of the chair is less than ideal and can potentially cause asphyxiation. Hoping to switch to the Aria as it seems to have more of a straight back and not such a deep c-shape!

Zero Stars
I would give this car seat zero starts if I could. My baby was very uncomfortable in this car seat from the day we drove home from the hospital. As new parents we thought it was just a phase and she would grow out of it…. No. It was getting worse by the day and it got to the point where she was foaming at the mouth when she sat in the car seat for more than 5 mins. We received an email on 8/9/2024 from Uppababy saying they are sending out inserts to help make the seat more comfortable but at this point we purchased another car seat because I didn’t feel comfortable nor do I feel confident my baby will be safe in this car seat. If you want an Uppababy car seat stick with the V2 my sister has had it for years and has never had an issue.

Would not recommend
My son could not sit properly in it from day 1. This car seat is "c-shaped" which as a new mom i didn't know mattered but essentially his chin was to his chest which isn't a safe position for infants. We will be returning for another car seat.

Terrible
I would not recommend this car seat to my enemy. This is sooooooooo uncomfortable and absolute waste of money. Don't do it. No back support head squashed tight generally I just hate it and my baby hated it as well . Short belt . No no no no. This made my life harder after a c section.
