The KNOX Convertible Car Seat is designed for kids approximately 1–6 years old, with both rear-facing (14–45 lbs) and forward-facing (25–65 lbs) modes.
It features a tightness indicator and robust tensioning clips to let you know it’s installed correctly. Green is good, red means there’s more adjustments to make.
For more advanced impact protection, the KNOX features Koroyd, developed from aerospace safety research and built into the base of the car seat. Koroyd’s welded tubes crumple instantly and consistently on impact, absorbing maximum force and minimizing energy transferred to the passenger.
There’s more: the absorption and recovery properties of specialized foams in the Active Support Headrest provide advanced side impact protection that grows with your little one.
Other safety features include the Multi-Directional Tether that reduces seat rotation and stress on the child’s head and neck in the event of impact.
The no-rethread harness, eight-position headrest, and four-position recline all adjust quickly and easily as your child grows. The KNOX also includes a removable cup holder that can attach to either side of the seat. When spills happen, the seat base fabric can be removed for easy cleaning.
More to feel good about: it’s a chemical-free choice. Through innovative use of Merino wool, the KNOX passes federal safety standards without the use of fire retardant chemicals. The wicking properties of Merino wool even helps keep kids cool on hot days and warm on cool days.

The UPPAbaby Knox Convertible Car Seat’s headrest adjusts for height with eight positions but does not make the seat narrower.
It's suitable for children ages 1-6, but you can use it for older children as long as they don't exceed the weight and height limits:
Rear-facing: 14 to 45 pounds (with fit inlay: 14 to 25 pounds); up to 49" in height. Forward-facing: 25 to 65 pounds; up to 49" in height.
This car seat does not come with an extra base as it's only meant to stay in one vehicle after installation.
You don't need to purchase a base separately. This convertible car seat is meant to stay in your vehicle after installation.
Since this is a convertible car seat, it's meant to stay inside the vehicle. Convertible car seats are not compatible with strollers.
It's possible to fit three Knox car seats across the backseat of a vehicle.

After taking it apart following the directions it doesn't fit correctly going back on. The fabric has also started to rip near the edges. We haven't even had this car seat a year.
So not impressed. We will be going back to the brand of our infants car seat and it's been amazing.
