Overview

Description

The Sunset Baby Soother uses DreamRed technology to gently guide baby to sleep. Sleep scientist Dr. Sofia Axelrod, co-developer of the soother, was inspired by Nobel Prize-winning research on the circadian clock. The blue light emitted by most nursery nightlights and home lighting increases alertness; this red light only emits wavelengths that support the natural production of melatonin.

The nightlight can be set to stay on all night (avoiding bright lights during middle-of-night changes and feedings), or choose sunset mode which slowly fades to darkness over thirty minutes. The soother also includes a white noise machine that creates a calming womb-like environment to support sleep.

What we love about it

1 Question
Does the night light have to be on for the sound machine to make a sound or can I use it just as a sound machine when needed?

You can use this on its own as a white noise machine without having to turn on the night light.

It’s fine
The red light is nice, but it feels very cheap and the buttons aren’t the easiest to press because of that. The white noise also only has three volumes and the quietest one is still really loud.

Keep looking
It’s great until it shuts off, and the baby wakes up. 😭

Great for Value!
I use the sound every nap and every night. I love the stay on continuously feature. It will run a really long time, definitely all night, but it still has a time out feature if I forget to turn it off the next day. It provides enough of a light to see my baby when he wakes at night and quickly assess his needs, but it's dim enough that we all can fall asleep easily.

Cheap
The buttons are difficult to press. It's not very clear how it works. I gave up on it.

Great gift
I bought this for a friend who was having sleep issues with her LO and she is raving about it! We always hear so much about blue light on our phones keeping us awake, red light does the opposite!

Great product
I use this every night for my son and he loves the sounds. It’s helped him sleep better and through the night more. I definitely recommend this to anyone who has a little one. The only thing I would change is having a longer sound setting

Great Product
The First Years - Sunset Baby Soother Nightlight Featuring DreamRed Technology is a great product that I use regularly. I will continue to use this product in the future and would definitely recommend to friends as well going forward. I'm excited for more.

Love it
I use this for my 2 year old. He's been used to a white noise machine, but we've always had kind of inconsistent lighting in his room. Typically a desk lamp with a 2700k bulb (yellowish). This has helped his sleep with the red light. I've always known red light helps sleep, but it's cool to see it in action. Overall, this one is a winner.

It was OK
Quality is a little lacking - it feels a little cheap, but as far as working, it does do what it says it does - the sounds are fine and the light is quite bright - too bright for my little one - she just wanted to grab it.
