onBoard Insta-Latch DLX Infant Car Seat

I was given this infant car seat to try as a part of the stellar product testing panel. My favorite features on this seat are the sun shade and base installation indicator. The base is easy to install and has an indicator window that lets you know when the base is tight enough. It also has a locking mechanism to lock the latch system or seatbelt in place which is a nice safety feature. I work in a NICU and get to try lots of infant seats, but this is the first time I've seen these features. The seat itself is easy to take apart and clean, can be washed in the washer, is well padded, and comes with infant inserts. My 18 month old fits well in this seat with plenty of room to grow. It fits infants up to 30 pounds and 34 inches. The seat is also extremely light weight which is great when you're able to carry an infant up to 30 pounds you don't want the seat adding more weight to lug around. The seat doesn't expire for 8 years so you can use it again for additional children and really get your money's worth on this seat. The sun shade offers great coverage, velcros in place at the top, and has a mesh extender section to increase shade coverage and ventilation during hot days. The only major draw back I found with this seat was that the straps are not on a slide adjuster. You have to manually detach the straps on the back and thread them through the shoulder slots to adjust as your baby grows. Two minor things are the sun shade is hard to adjust with one hand and the straps are a little difficult to tighten compared to other seats I've tried, but these issues would not keep me from recommending this infant car seat.

As a second time mom, I was excited to try out a new car seat. After installing it and adjusting it to fit my baby, here is what I think: PROS: - It is very lightweight and does not feel bulky - It was easy to install and adjust - The fabric feels high-quality - The instructions were extremely clear and easy to understand. CONS: - The seat does not detach from the base very seamlessly. It takes a little bit of work. - The canopy felt a little clunky and loud. I only pull up the canopy when I notice the sun is in my baby's face, and the noise of it will wake them up. Overall, I think this is a good car seat. My number one concern for a car seat is the safety of my child, and next important is ease of use. This rates high in both categories. I received this product through the stellar product testing panel. I overall really like the product. It's great how light weight it is and easy to click in and out of the car. I do think the installation was easy and do like the green/red indicator and the self tightening option. I really love the extended canopy option, this is a great feature that I think will be highly used however it is unusually loud when opening/closing. I do think it was fine to remove the fabric to clean but if this could be even easier that would be great! The car seat is a bit bigger than other models as well so depending on your car it may be a tight fit.

It was very easy to install in the car and I liked that there was an option to install without the base which will make it great for travel. It was also pretty easy to adjust the straps with the rethread option on the back. My little guy seemed comfy in the car seat too. The canopy on top seemed a little flimsy but the material inside was nice and was very easy to clean and wipe down. It was a little difficult for me to detach the car seat from the base when taking it out of the car but with practice it will get easier. It is pretty light but a little wide so it was a little more difficult for me to carry around. Overall, it is a good car seat and gets the job done!

I was given this infant car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and honestly I'm really happy we were! I appreciate how lightweight this seat is, especially compared to a previous model we were using for our son. Our son is growing so quickly and is long for his age so I also really appreciate the multiple shoulder strap height adjustments. I am very pleased with the seat all around - from the sleek design and advanced features, to how easy the install was into the car. I'd definitely recommend to friends in the future!

Thanks to the stellar product testing panel I got to experience this amazing carseat! My daughter was pre mature so I was nervous bringing her home anyways. The carseat we had was hard to get her sitting correctly, and had to be adjusted so much. As soon as I buckled her into this carseat I felt so secure. The material is super soft and didn't irritate her tender skin (which I loved) and the buckles clicked into place so smooth. It is much easier for me to adjust the straps one handed with this carseat as well. So I was able to make sure she felt snug and secure in her new ride. It is easy to carry and very light compared to the one I had before.i am so glad for this carseat to be the one my baby girl is riding in. I feel good knowing she's as safe as she can be.

This is a decent car seat if you are looking for a more affordable option, but it's definitely not as nice as some of the more expensive brands. A few things I liked: - The seat has great cushion and seems very comfortable for my baby to be in. The infant inserts make this even softer and more comfortable for small babies. - Both the shoulder straps and the bottom strap are adjustable making it easy to get the right fit for your kid. - The handle bar can rotate all the way back to provide a sturdy support when the car seat is sitting on the ground. - When installing the car seat base, there is a red/green indicator showing you if it's installed tight enough which is really helpful. Things I didn't like: - While the cushions fabric feels nice and comfortable, the plastic on the car seat seems really cheap. For example, the car seat cover feels like the plastic may snap in half every time you move it. - While the instal was pretty easy due to the red/green indicator, I didn't like that I couldn't pull the connector straps tighter myself. The anchor straps self tighten which I'm sure is easier for some people, but I like to be able to get them even tighter by pulling myself. The only way to get this base tighter is to just push down more which is a bit limiting. - Both the car seat and the base are bigger than other models. This made it a tight fit in my car and I can't put the front seat as far back as I normally would. All in all, I'd say this carseat is OK and may be a good option if you are looking to save some money. If money isn't an issue, there are much nicer car seats available for just a bit more. I received this infant car seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This car seat is the bomb. As we have become new parents we have been told about every brand there is but I am here to tell you Safety First with the onBoard Insta-LATCH DLX Infant Car Seat is the best bang for your buck. Such quality at a great price. The knit stitching on the head rest for the infant gives it such a luxury look. It was super easy to install. It took less than 10 minutes including opening the boxes. Once the base is in the car seat itself easily snaps in and is very solid. Then when ready to go it simply unsnaps and you're off. Our child's safety as new parents is the number one priority when driving. We are loving this seat and feel confident in its ability to keep our little one safe. The infant straps are easy on their face and chest and the material seems very durable. Super happy to have this in my SUV and look forward to getting our new addition out and about.

I was given this infant car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Overall I think the car seat is decent quality. The positives: it's a good looking car seat. It's easy to adjust for sizing and fit. It fits a wide range of sizes. It releases from the base very easily. It's pretty lightweight. The negatives: the plastic components seem a little cheap. The handle requires two hands to adjust. The canopy is super flimsy and sticks — it's difficult to pull out with one hand. The chest clip is a little more difficult to get to release. Overall I do think this is a great option for a lower cost car seat, or a secondary one. While this won't replace our current car seat, we are using it as the car seat in my husbands car, and it's been a great addition.

When I received this car seat as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I was honestly blown away by how light it was. I didn't know infant car seats could be this light! It says 7.5 lbs but feels even less than that, maybe because I am used to carrying around a much heavier seat. This would be fantastic for taking on a plane, for example. The light weight of this is definitely its biggest plus. Another huge asset is the ease of installation. The base clicks in in just a matter of seconds, and the installation guides make it so simple to make sure you have it in correctly. It's a total dream to install compared to other, clunkier car seat bases. The cushions seems lux and comfortable, with a nice color scheme and a pretty diamond pattern. However, the sunshade seems very flimsy. The strap clips, too, felt a bit cheap. In general, the biggest downside of this seat is that it doesn't feel very durable or sturdy. I am sure that is what contributes to it being so light, so that is the trade off. Overall, this is a super choice if you want a lightweight infant seat without any hassle, but may not be the best bet for longterm, daily use.
