Description

This baby monitor is one of the only video monitors to actually track baby’s sleep. It comes with the Nanit Pro Camera, Wall Mount, Small, Medium and Large Breathing Bands, Smart Sheet, Flex Stand, Travel Case and a free 6-month trial of Nanit Insights Membership which unlocks sleep data tracking and insights.

Nanit Insights is your sleep coach. The included trial of Nanit Insights Sleep Plan offers member-exclusive features such as auto-captured sleep data, custom Smart Alerts (Baby Standing, Cry Detection), live-status Sleep dashboard, and the ability to save and view video clips/history. Upgrade and choose from three different plans to access even more features such as developmental milestones tracking (like baby rolling over) and more.

The Breathing Band works exclusively with the Nanit Plus and Pro cameras to monitor your baby’s breathing motion with no sensors on their body. Nanit reads subtle movements in the fabric’s custom-designed pattern, and alerts you if your baby needs you. The Breathing Band is soft, comfortable and fits over most pajamas.

With Memories, the Nanit camera captures your baby’s finest moments right in the app so you can celebrate fun moments and growth milestones and share with loved ones.

Rather than having a separate monitor, the Nanit connects to your phone through WiFi. Because the Nanit streams live video and audio to your phone, you can also check in on your kiddo when you’re away from home.

Background audio allows you to listen in to baby’s room even when you’re using other apps or your screen is locked. There’s also 2-way audio (which lets you talk to and hear baby), white noise, nature sounds, temperature and humidity sensors and a night light.

The Nanit Smart Sheet allows you to measure your baby’s height and growth progress right in your app. Nanit sees the unique pattern on the 100% cotton fitted crib sheet to calculate your baby’s height without any sensors touching them.

While on the go, the Travel Case has a protective hard shell, padded inner walls and customized compartments that protect your Nanit Camera, Flex Stand and power adapter. The slim design fits easily in your purse, diaper bag or luggage.

The Wall Mount works best above a standard-sized crib. For traveling and portability, the Flex Stand allows you to take Nanit with you.

Data is protected with enterprise-level security, AES 256-bit symmetric-key encryption and two-factor verification. Cables are safely tucked away, out of sight and out of tiny hands.

Can't go wrong with Nanit!
love our Nanit system. As a first time mom, everything is very foreign and you're scared about everything. Baby didn't take to breastfeeding so there was no need for Mom to be the only feeder. Dad is able to switch off so we can each get some sleep. Feeding in the same room and being awoken when baby was causing both parents to lose more sleep than they needed to be. Our baby was also going through colic. We weren't able to function as the best partner or best parent we could be.

I was extremely anxious about having him sleep in his nursery in his crib so early as I know it's not the "norm." However, moving my son to his crib with his Nanit breathing wear, Nanit Camera and Nanit sound + light was really freeing and relieving as I was reading lots of good things and did a lot of research, I felt like I could try the system to work as describe and help ensure baby is safe. We have utilized swaddles, footsie PJs and breathing bands. The breathing wear essentially works as a QR code that the camera can pick up.

The breathing wear PJs aren't cute at all as they are most blank so that the tracking image can easily be recognized. It is also very hard to bend, not just the normal one no zipper leg, but even the zipper leg out for diaper changes because the zipper is basically on the outside edge of the zipper leg. But we're big fans for the breathing band which can usually be kept on while changing except for when they are nearing the end of fitting in their size range (ie end of month 3 of the 0-3 size) as it's harder to bend their leg out of the PJ clothing underneath without getting the band restricting/getting in the way.

We like the camera & app to be able to each view baby from our phones without having to switch the monitor between people, worry about charging it, view baby in their crib while we're out on date night/away, and see his heart rate. We love the ability to be able to share with the out of state grandparents, aunts/uncles & cousins.

he grandmas report love checking in on baby when they get up to use the bathroom at night or are getting ready for work, or see him during his naptimes. We are able to control the different features users have access to as well, so we can turn on/off their ability to hear or talk. At agreed upon times, I flip mics on and they have a little "scheduled drop in" where they can hear and talk with baby. Family can talk to see his reactions and for him to get to know their voice. Even an out of state story time!

We also give our nanny, "local access" only which requires her being close enough to be the wifi for her to be able to access the Nanit features.

I also look forward to having a second camera for a future child, or even one for the play room vs bedroom, to be able to use split view.

The Nanit Sound + Light is great because it's linked to the camera app and you can put on some soothing music to help them stay asleep or fall back to sleep if they awaken. Currently we are turning on the Nanit light with the purple coloring during overnight wakeups and keeping it on while making the formula bottle in his room and moving him to the changing table before sitting down and feeding him before turning it off. You have the ability to choose the volume and brightness level as well. We feel like we use just enough light is a dark soothing color to keep him as sleepy as possible vs turning on his regular bedroom light.

We use the waves sound overnight and he often goes back to sleep on his own without needing a change/feed sometimes when he wakes up. He also falls asleep very quickly once put back in his crib after eating. He can also get overtired and we're trying to sleep train so that he can put himself to sleep without assistance, even in these circumstances he's falling asleep relatively quickly. I truly believe it's due to the soothing sound. When we have the monitor on and we can hear the sound in the room we can also hear the waves and it's even soothing for us! It still picks up if he's awake crying breathing etc even if it's picking up the wave sound. He does really well with the lullaby sound but I can't sleep listening to it overnight so we save that for daytime naps.

I love being able to look at his day/night time summaries and see how he averages in different data compared to other children (e.g. time to fall asleep unassisted, amount of time awake overnight vs total asleep time, amount of awakenings, etc.). Getting the memories & milestones history is kind of cool too. E.g. 1st night he slept throughout the entire night!

I also enjoy taking the occasional snapshot of that little cutie doing whatever cute thing he may be doing either asleep or awake. I haven't spent a lot of time figuring out how to best utilize the Nanit measurement sheets because you have to use this folding measurement strip place next to the baby. The design of the sheets isn't particularly appealing as they're mostly just a blank white sheet for the most part.

Horrible money pit
Terrible. This is a money pit to avoid, Nanit offers no features beyond a traditional babycam without a $100+ annual subscription. Furthermore, this product locks up your phone while using/monitoring so plan to buy or use a iPad for monitoring 100%. Be prepared to buy the $50 travel stand because no 3rd party plug will work. Be prepared if your WiFi goes out, no coverage. Don’t be surprised at fuzzy frames and delayed notices. This was by far the biggest waste of $ when it came to baby gear/necessities… would never recommend it.

Peace of Mind is Golden
I love the fact that it’ll track your baby’s breaths per minute and will sound an alarm on both your phone and the camera if the breaths per minute drops. The sounds are so calming for baby. The night vision is great. No complaints!

Do not buy
DO NOT BUY. Nanit can only support 2 caregivers/viewers. If you have grandparents, Nannies, or other caregivers supporting your child (and I hope for your sanity, you do ☺️), you have to pay extra ($10/month) to add them to the team so that they can view the baby while you run out for lunch / take a shower. It’s not only a money-grab, it’s also extremely shady that the company doesn’t make this clear. I regret buying this product and don’t want others to make my same mistake!

Meh
I had very little issues early on. Loved knowing my little man was breathing well using the belly bands. After about 4 months the unit just keeps having all sorts of bugs and issues. It often disconnects(not a wifi issue) as well as fails to record events and the time line correctly. I could just have put him to bed and it will tell me I put him to sleep 10 hours ago. Occasionally these features work properly and when they do, I find the information helpful. Unfortunately the performance of this camera is not consistent. I often wonder if my experience is subpar because I didn’t get a subscription which is not required for the basic features. For the price, I’m not sure it was worth it when there are other options out there.

worth it
being able to glance at my phone and see my baby is breathing is priceless. babies dont move for long stretches of time often, so seeing that my baby is breathing with the breathing band prevents me from getting up and going to check on my baby multiple times a night. the sheets are not necessary, just kind of cool to measure the height. i'll have to see how accurate they are once i go to the pediatrician. no, they dont measure weight.

Broke after 14 months
Our camera broke after 14 months just outside of the warranty window. They kept trying to get me to trouble shoot it but it would randomly just not turn on or stop working in the middle of the night. Had to fight hard to get them to consider extending the warranty. Not worth the money for something that fails so quickly.
