Nice quality and size to the wooden chest, but the soft close lid supports didn't hold up.
After about 1 year they started to fail and now they don't slow closing the lid until it's almost shut which isn't much help in preventing toddler head bonks. When I called customer support they said they don't have replacement parts and could not offer any advice on adjusting the supports either.

Do not buy Melissa & Doug products.
Toy box was of poor quality. Factory drilled holes failed to match up & therefore box was not square & failed to close properly. Advertised “site wide” promotion of 20% was invalid. Company requires that we pay the return postage despite poor craftsmanship. We were embarrassed to give this gift to our granddaughter.

Won’t cancel order
I bought this online on accident and then called within 10 minutes to cancel. They said they would not cancel the order and it would be shipped. In order to return it, I would need to ship it back and they would not pay for shipping on the return. Very unhappy with the customer service.

Will never buy from them again
I bought this toy chest on sale and have spent the last two hours trying to put the hinges on I am going to have to end up buying hinges that actually work and spend more money that I shouldn’t have to because they are selling products with defective pieces I am extremely disappointment and most definitely won’t be buying anything from Melissa and Doug brand again

Great size! Fits perfectly into space. Just wish customer service had replied to my message the website would not accept my 30% off welcome code. …..and no help was provide to correct.

Really loving this toy chest! Soft close, lots of space and put together myself with easy instructions. Love that it can be dual purpose and look nice in our home serving as both a bench and a great place for storage for toys!
