Created with newborns in mind, BabyBjorn’s Baby Carrier Mini is a smaller, more lightweight update to their Original Carrier, and it’s geared to the needs of new babies and parents. Use the carrier to keep your hands free while you satisfy your baby’s need for closeness. It’s designed to carry your baby high on your chest, so they can feel your heartbeat.
Unlike some other carriers and slings, the Mini is very easy to use with just a few adjustable buckles. You can get it on quickly to comfort your little one, which makes a big difference in those newborn weeks. And unlike BabyBjorn’s other carriers, with the Mini you can unfasten the entire front section to transfer your sleeping baby directly to their bed.
This Baby Carrier Mini comes in two lightweight specialty fabrics: 3D jersey and 60% polyester/40% cotton. They’re both soft to the touch and foster physical connection. The carrier gently hugs your newborn’s back, legs and hips to provide support in a comfortable ergonomic position. You can feel your baby’s body well through the fabric, so you can check their position and the natural C-curve of spine with you hands. The carrier has adjustable head and neck support as well. The small size and lightweight fabrics mean that this carrier folds up small enough to pack in your diaper bag or stroller basket. Prefer a different fabric? The Babybjörn Baby Carrier Mini is also available in a 3D mesh.
Your baby should ride facing in for the first few months, but at five months, you can also choose a face-out position. The Baby Carrier Mini is safe to use with babies up to 12 months old and 24 pounds, so once your baby reaches those limits, you can transition to the Bjorn Harmony Carrier, which can be used up to 36 months.

It's designed for 7-24 lbs.
It isn't IHDI certified, but it's hip-friendly and safe for the little one. This carrier meets the European EN 13209-2:2015 and the American ASTM F2236 safety standards for safe wearing with baby from 7-24 lbs.
Baby Carrier Mini is suitable until your child is one year old or until they reach a weight of 24 lbs (11 kg) and/or a height of 29.5 in (75 cm).
This is designed to fit many sizes, including larger parents. But the best fitting carrier for plus-sized parents might be the Baby Carrier One. Its waist belt when laid flat is about 56 inches. For the Mini (and all other Babybjörn carriers) the waist band only goes up to 54 inches.
Absolutely! The straps are all adjustable and should fit parents of all shapes and sizes.

However, our baby grew out of it a bit faster than we expected. While the carrier is ideal for newborns (from 8-25 pounds), our baby quickly outgrew the available support as they approached the upper weight limit. Once they started getting a little taller and heavier, we noticed that they weren’t as comfortable in it anymore, especially for longer periods. The carrier is great for short, quick outings, but it’s not as versatile as some other carriers that can grow with your child for a longer period. Overall, the BabyBjörn Baby Carrier Mini is a fantastic choice for parents of newborns, but if you're looking for something that will last longer as your baby grows, you may want to consider a more adjustable carrier. Still, for the first few months, it’s a great, comfortable, and easy-to-use option!
