Let's talk: baby shower alternatives
Now that you’re firmly in your third trimester, you might start feeling compelled to redesign, reorganize and obsessively clean your home—otherwise known as nesting. Though scientists aren’t totally sure why pregnant people experience it, one expert describes the headspace as “an instinctual urge to ‘ready your nest’ during pregnancy in preparation for birth and the arrival of a newborn.” The desire might not come until around 37 weeks (or not at all) but in anticipation, we love this idea for a nesting party (in lieu of a baby shower) where you invite friends over to help clean, organize and build baby furniture. And having a postpartum freezer meal prep day is a great plan, too!
