Upgrade Your Registry with These Handy Magnetic Baby Products
Babylist parents rave about these products, which use convenient magnet closures instead of buttons, snaps or zippers.

Move over, buttons and zippers—baby products are entering their magnet era. Thanks to their ability to automatically align and self-fasten, magnetic closures are a game-changer for parents and caregivers. You may know about magnetic baby pajamas, but did you know there are magnets in things like bibs, carriers and strollers too? These magnetic baby items are designed with busy parents in mind, allowing you to open and close things one-handed and without pinching, pulling or even aligning opposite ends to ensure they’re connected correctly. It’s a small innovation with a big impact, especially when you’re holding a wiggly baby.
In fact, we heard from thousands of Babylist parents in our annual Best Baby Products survey about how much they love magnetic baby products, with many parents writing in to say that magnetic features are “so convenient” and “a game changer.”
Magnetic closures are also an inclusive option for caregivers who experience mobility challenges. If you have difficulty with fine motor tasks, like buttoning a tiny outfit or fastening a stroller buckle, magnetic closures offer a practical alternative. By embracing the convenience of magnets, these baby products are meeting families where they’re at—whether you need something faster, easier or more accessible.
And if you’re worried about choking hazards, rest assured that all magnetic closures are fully sewn into the product’s fabric, so regular wear and tear (and even strong babies) won’t result in loose magnets. They may even be more secure than traditional snaps and buttons, since they’re sewn inside the fabric rather than on top of it.
Ready to get innovative? Here are the best magnetic baby products to add to your registry, according to real Babylist parents.
Magnetic Baby Gear
Buckles are a necessary part of baby gear; you’ll find them on strollers, car seats, baby carriers, diaper bags. But traditional buckles can be a bit of a pain, especially if you’re trying to do things one-handed. That’s where magnet buckles become a game changer—they self-align and snap securely into place, so you don’t have to fumble around with connecting the two ends. A few popular brands, like Nuna, UPPAbaby and Graco, have started incorporating magnets into their buckle designs to allow for quick, secure fastening.
The TAVO stroller by parent-favorite brand Nuna features a self-guiding magnet buckle that automatically locks into place when the magnetic ends come near each other, and it comes unfastened quickly and smoothly with the touch of a button. But if you’re worried that it’s also easy for a toddler to unbuckle, the button takes a little more force than toddlers can usually muster.
The sequel to the beloved Vista V2, the V3 improves on the previous traditional buckle system with a new magnetic buckle, so you can get baby secured quickly.
Traditional buckles, clips and snaps can be a huge pain when you’re trying to secure your baby in a carrier. Instead of searching for the other end of the buckle and trying to line them up all while also balancing your baby, the Colugo carrier features magnetic buckles at the top that secure without you really even needing to look (i.e. no craning your neck to get a good view of your own shoulder). One Babylist parent told us in our Best Baby Gear survey that the Colugo carrier is “the only one I found where I can put the baby on by myself.”
The Nuna CUDL baby carrier takes things a step further with four magnetic buckles: one on each shoulder strap and two on the waist, so you can get baby strapped in even faster. “It makes it so easy to load the baby by myself with no help,” one parent told us.
This carrier from Lillebaby does their magnetic buckles a little differently. Instead of two shoulder buckles, you only have one buckle across your chest (or your back, if you’re front-carrying). Keep in mind that this carrier does also have two traditional buckles that need to be connected before you put baby in, and then everything can be fully secured with the magnetic buckle.
The magnetic shoulder buckle on the Lillebaby carrier can easily be opened and closed with one hand.
It’s not just higher-end brands that have this feature—mid-range brands like Graco are getting in on the magnet game, too. Similar to the Colugo carrier, the Cradle Me from Graco features one magnetic buckle on each shoulder (along with two traditional buckles on the waist straps) that self-aligns and auto-secures with just one hand.
Buckles aren’t the only place for magnets in baby gear—the Nuna Pipa infant car seat uses magnets to secure the sky drape when it’s in use. No more worrying about whether you’ll startle your baby with zippers and snaps, since the magnet closures are completely silent.
Magnetic Baby Clothes
Magnetic closures are also a huge help when it comes to baby clothes, making dressing your little one faster and easier. There are only a small number of brands that offer magnetic baby clothes, with Magnetic Me being the standout brand. They have a fairly wide range of clothes in sizes newborn to 2T and up, all with magnetic fasteners in place of snaps or zippers.
With just a quick click, these clothes make diaper changes and wardrobe swaps a breeze—especially when you’re juggling a fussy (or sleeping) baby. Babylist parents say these magnetic clothes are “convenient,” “so easy to use” and “such a game changer for middle of the night changes and feeds.”
This footie is made from 100% modal fabric, so it’ll stay buttery soft even after dozens of washes. The magnet closures go from the neck all the way down to the leg, and they’re fully covered by fabric so they won’t come off with heavy wear and tear.
That’s right, there are magnetic baby clothes even for the coldest weather. This hooded fleece coverall will keep baby warm and cozy, and you won’t have to fight with snaps or zippers when your hands are cold.
Easy=Magnetic Close (AKA E=MC) is another magnetic-focused baby clothing brand, and they typically cost about half the price of Magnetic Me. Their range is a bit smaller, but the designs they do have are trendy and cute.
Baby mittens are notorious for falling off easily, but the magnetic closures on these ones keep them secured to tiny wrists.
Magnetic Baby Accessories
These baby accessories may not be considered must-haves in the way that clothing and some gear is, but the addition of magnetic features might have you raving about these everyday baby items like they’re the hottest trend.
Babynetic’s magnetic bibs were a top-recommended product among Babylist parents in our 2024 Best Baby Products survey. These bibs snap into place effortlessly with a magnetic closure, making mealtime cleanup faster and less of a hassle. With no need for Velcro or snaps, they offer a secure fit that’s easy for parents (but will also withstand your toddler trying to yank it off). Parents say they’re “so easy and innovative” and “perfect for impatient babies.”
Car seat covers can help shield baby from the sun and overstimulating surroundings, and the traditional snap closures can make it tough to discreetly check on baby. The magnetic closures on this Little Unicorn cover are silent, so you don’t have to worry about startling a dozing baby.
Nearly every diaper bag out there uses zippers, but if you’re juggling a fussy baby, you may not have the time/energy/patience to mess with the closures on your bag as you’re digging for whatever toy, pacifier or bottle will soothe your baby. To make those frantic searches go a little faster, the Everyday Diaper Backpack from Huhu has not one, not two, but three magnetic-closure pockets. They’re secure enough to keep everything inside (even if you toss the bag upside-down) yet easy enough to unlatch that all you have to do is lift up on the main pocket flap—no pinching or pulling needed.
The magnetic buckle on the Huhu diaper bag can be opened with one hand, and it closes automatically.
