Overview

Highlights

  • Easy installation
  • Extra-large UPF 25+ hideaway canopy
  • Base with Anti-Rebound+ Panel
  • Ergonomic aluminum carry handle
  • GREENGUARD Gold Certified

Description

Without its base, the Aria is just 6 lbs, making it a standout when it comes to easy-to-carry baby gear. The adjustable headrest offers a no re-thread, 5-point harness for a more accurate and customized fit as baby grows. Plus, the simple one-crotch buckle position makes buckling easier.

The included stay-in-car base weighs 12.6 lbs and installs in seconds with a SmartSecure system, auto-retracting LATCH design and red-to-green visual indicators. It also features an adjustable load leg and Anti-Rebound+ Panel for stability and energy absorption in the event of a crash (this helps limit forward rotation during a front collision).

For peace of mind, Aria is made with both fabric and foam that’s free from all fire-retardant chemicals, including the large UPF 25+ hideaway canopy. It’s also GREENGUARD Gold Certified to support healthier air quality and low chemical emissions.

To create a travel system, Aria directly attaches to both the Vista and Cruz strollers (sold separately). It’s also compatible with the Minu and Ridge with the addition of adapters.

For two-car families, you can add a second car seat base.

What we love about it

Strong, safe and incredibly lightweight at just 6 lbs.

Not meant for small babies
After a lot of research, being that we were expecting with twins and it was a safe assumption that they would be on the preemie size, we purchased the aria as it is advertised to be for smaller babies as little as 4 pounds. Unfortunately due to the seat layout our one baby was not able to pass an O2 test in it. Ended up with a seat a fraction of the price of this one to work for our baby. Unfortunately we are not out the cost of this seat and the extra bases for it.

Bad Design
I hate to leave this review because I love my UPPAbaby stroller but this car seat is very unsafe. I would not recommend this car seat due to its terrible design. My son was very squished in it and it did not support his body/head properly. Such a bummer!

What is the combined length of the base and carseat!
Giving three stars instead of one because I haven't been able to use the carseat yet.

Pros it's super lightweight and a relatively small profile for the early months until I switch to a convertible carseat. Works as part of a travel system with a stroller I love. Easy to click in and out of the base. Exactly what I was looking for.

Cons The dimensions listed in the product specs are very misleading, because it doesn't include the combined seat + base dimesions like the Mesa V2. When installed on the base, the carseat doesn't fit in my car without moving my seat forward. I'm 5'8'' and my husband is 6'4''. So I now need to decide between looking for a different carseat or using the seat without the base (which would be a hassle and real bummer) or sucking it up and moving my drivers seat forward 2 inches until she grows out of the seat and accepting that hubby can't drive my car unless we continuously move the base from side to side. :(

So small
My poor little guy outgrew this after we had to take the preemie insert out. It's WAY too deep. It's very small. The way he sits in there does not look comfortable and his knees are pressed so far up I feel so bad for him.

One side does not click off very well when taking it off the stroller.

I do like the longer sun shade and that it's vented. It is also very lightweight but that's because it's seriously so tiny.

Great car seat
I originally had the Mesa Max which I had issues with and I received the Aria. This car seat is much much better. This one is very light so it's easy to carry baby around in it especially as they grow. This one sits the baby upright with back support for easy breathing. Car seat is great. Sometimes it's finicky to unlatch from the stroller (Cruz) but I learned you have to pull it up evenly so it unlatches from the stroller on both sides at one time. Highly recommend this seat!!

The best car seat
Honestly the best car seats so light and convenient and perfect addition to my vista stroller. I'm hoping they come out with a 360 rotating car seat soon!!!

Dont buy, light weight not worth it
My baby was fine in it when she was a newborn but its so small that by 3 months by baby screamed and cried everytime she had to go in it. She is so scrunched up. She gets super sweaty. Its really hard to get her in and out of it. She is 4 months now, 13.8 lbs and 24 inches (so not a big girl) and she is busting out of it. The light weight feature originally attracted me but I would have traded a few extra pounds for longer use. Super disappointed because now we will need to buy a new car seat and this one only got 4 months use… too expensive for that little use.

Not worth the money
This car seat was great for the newborn phase but once my baby got bigger she cried and spit up instantly when put in the car seat. She looked physically uncomfortable. Switched to the Nuna pipa and all the issues resolved instantly. It’s worth it to buy the more expensive car seat and adapters to fit the Vista stroller.
