Overview

Description

Philips Avent bottles are made from pharmaceutical-grade borosilicate glass that’s heat and thermal-shock resistant. You can store them in the fridge, warm them up and sterilize without worry of breakage.

Wide and soft, the Natural Response nipples let baby control the flow of milk, similar to breastfeeding. The unique opening and only releases milk when baby actively drinks so when they pause to swallow and breathe, the milk pauses, too. This makes it easier to switch back and forth between breast and bottle feeding. They’re also a no-drip design to prevent lost milk.

The nipples have an Anti-colic valve designed to reduce the amount of air baby ingests while feeding, which helps with common issues like colic, reflux and gas.

What we love about it

Can these bottles be used to store milk in the freezer? Do they come with caps that can be used to fully seal the bottle in the freezer?

It is not recommended for freezer storage because glass can be vulnerable to breakage from the temperature extremes and the expansion of milk as it freezes.

Will these bottles work for 0-12 months? ?

4 oz bottles come with Natural Response nipples Flow 2, which is for 0m+ and 8 oz bottles come with Natural Response nipples Flow 3, which is for 1m+. You may want to increase the flow with age, depending on your child.

How tall and wide are these bottles?

The Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottles with Natural Response Nipples are approximately 5.2 inches tall and 2.9 inches wide for the 4-ounce size, and 7.36 inches tall and 2.9 inches wide for the 8-ounce size.

Can these bottles fit in any sterilizer?

No, you'll want to compare the measurements of the sterilizer and bottle to be sure.

Do they come with the anti-colic valves?

These have nipples that have an anti-colic valve.

Do they have measurements for amount of milk on the bottle?

They do have measurements on the side so you can easily check the amount of milk in the bottle.

Are these Microwave safe?

We do not recommend using a microwave to warm up baby's food or drinks. Check this link for further information: https://www.usa.philips.com/c-f/XC000006523/can-i-use-a-microwave-to-warm-up-my-philips-avent-bottle

Are these bottles safe to go in the Phillips Bottle Warmer?

Yes, the Avent Glass Natural Bottle with Natural Response Nipple is safe to use with the Philips Bottle Warmer.

How many bottles do I need?

The number of bottles and nipples required depends on whether you plan to bottle-feed or breastfeed. If you're opting for bottle-feeding, having eight to ten bottles is advisable, while breastfeeding may only need three or four.

Are these compatible with the Spectra breast pump?

The Spectra breast pump takes standard wide mouth bottles, so glass bottles from Philips Avent will connect directly to them. It's usually best to use plastic bottles though since it might get a bit too heavy with a glass bottle.

Lids don’t tighten after using for a couple months causing milk to spill out.

Leaky libs
Probably one of the worst bottles I’ve ever used the lids leak. I wasted ounces of breastmilk because of the leaking lids. Very annoying.

Leaking is what these bottles do best
These are the most infuriating and frustrating bottles we have ever bought. The design is horrible, if you don't close the top just the right way the bottles will leak out. Even when you think you have tightened the top enough, milk will still leak out. Horrible, especially since these bottles are in the pricier end. Save yourself aggravation and go with a different product.

Detrimental hairline cracks in the bottles
Our baby loves this bottle for feeding and we have purchased 7 of these 8oz glass bottles. But, recently we found hairline cracks on all of the glass bottles, which is kind of making us skeptical to use them for feeding. We are not sure if this is safe for feeding since tiny minute glass particles which are not visible can cause harm to the baby. Philip Avent should have include some sort of an indicator in the design of the bottles so that we can readily understand that the bottle should be replaced.

I got this product for my baby shower. We have used it for the past 2 months. My husband made a bottle for my daughter the bottom of the bottle came off. The bottle didn’t shatter or anything. The bottom just broke off. I have all the pictures. I’m not sure how this can happen.

No shatterproof?
Not shatterproof. Ive been using the bottle for over a year now I was glad to see additional nipples such as the sippy and straw tips. Last night my son dropped it and it completely shattered the glass shards even cut him. I would like to still recommend and use this product but I would like to see a silicone cover to protect from shattering. Also I would praise that they were shatter proof because there has been countless times where I drop it even on pavement and it never shattered, so I'm not sure if maybe the glass gets worn out or what happened to its durability because it wasn’t a hard drop at all and it just went into a pieces.

These bottles leak, you never know when they will do it. I check the bottle with a tilt test before feeding baby yet they leak my hard earned milk all over baby. Actually this morning they wasted 2 of 5 ounces on baby instead on in baby. I hate these bottles. If you have any updates to this issue I’d love to hear about it

The Plastic Fasteners
The plastic fasteners, holding the nipple, do not lock in place after a couple washes. We use a baby brezza to clean and sanitize our bottles. We do not use the dishwasher or boiling water but Philips’ plastic fasteners are so cheap they must warp during the brezza wash. Even though there are some benefits to using these bottles, they become unusable once the fastener no longer works. Don’t waste your money. They don’t even offer replacement fasteners, have to buy all new sets. You just end up with a bunch of extra glass bottles and nipples. You must wash the fasteners each time because of bacteria babies carry. Philips will never be a good or great company, just average because they dabble in everything from toothbrushes to lights…
